Always / Draco Malfoy

Chapter 5

Narrator's POV:

Rubeus Hagrid was the new Care of magical creatures teacher and to say that Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Aurora are excited is an understatement. The group had a lovely bond with Hagrid he always looked out for each of them and even he was excited about his first proper lesson. 

He had decided to take the class to an open part of the woods and some students were not particularly happy to be lugging around the monster of Care of magical creatures book and poor Neville was being attacked by his book. 

Draco Malfoy in particular was not keen on Hagrid teaching Care of magical creatures he thought that someone else surely must be more qualified for the job. After overhearing a conversation with Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Aurora he decided it was time to but in.

"Oh yeh terribly funny really Whitty, god this place has gone to the dogs wait until my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes."

"Shut up Malfoy!" Harry rebutted.

"ooooo," Draco began stalking closer to Harry before wearing a terrified expression on his face," Dementor! Dementor!" He exclaimed causing Harry to turn around absolutely terrified.

Aurora's POV: 

Seeing Draco tease Harry about what had happened with the dementors irritated me Harry was not weak but he showed a bit of weakness because what had happened to him was truly terrifying and Draco was trying to exploit it.

"Malfoy I would like to see you get the dementors kiss and see how you handle it," I spat putting an arm around Harry to pull him towards Hagrid.

"Malfoy?" He questioned clearly surprised I had called him by his last name.

"That is what I said," I replied pulling a face of annoyance which he matched causing a slight smile to perk on my lips.

Hagrid began the lesson by introducing us all to a Hippogriff I had recently looked after an injured Hippogriff in the summer with my grandma so seeing another one made my heart melt.

"Does anyone know what he is and anything you might know about him?" Hagrid asked looking around for anyone to answer.

"He is a Hippogriff and they are very proud creatures you must bow upon approaching them until they feel comfortable you must be very cautious!" I exclaimed laughing at Hermione who was clearly not impressed that I knew more than her about something.

"Fantastic Aurora! Now, who would like to ride him?" Almost immediately everyone took a step back but Harry didn't realize what everyone had done so he was chosen. It was certainly interesting watching him try to not offend the Hippogriff and then watching him ride away was wonderful. While he was off enjoying himself everyone seemed to just chatter among themselves. 

When he came back Draco decided he would try and approach Buckbeak without bowing and well Buckbeak scratched him in retaliation. I have never seen Draco act more like a child than at that moment, he was laid on the floor shouting that 'it killed him' I will bloody kill him if he carries on. Hermione explained to Hagrid that he needed to take Draco to the medical wing which he did and everyone was left to go back to the castle.

Harry, Ron, and I all made our way to the great hall for dinner non of us had a clue where Hermionie was and Ron was somehow convinced she was taking classes at the same time as other classes. Impossible. We made our way past the Slytherin table where I overheard Pansy talking to Draco," Does it hurt terribly Draco?" I couldn't help but laugh at how pathetic she was trying to get his attention, but then I realized he was entertaining it. Shouldn't he not be doing that like we are going on a date this weekend?

I finally sat down mood very glum after my recent realization and appearing out of thin air Hermione again! She quickly joined in the conversation making us all very confused as to when she joined us but she quickly began brushing off Ron's accusation that she had not been sat next to us a minute prior. 

"Why so glum princess?" The sudden conversation directed my way made me jump looking to my right where I saw Freddie sat next to me.

"Hiya Freddie just tired as all," I replied, despite everyone knowing my close friendship with Draco I never really went into specifics or really talked about him unless they brought him up. It worked better that way his name just irritated people and I didn't want that.

"Lies," Freddie laughed," but if you don't want to talk about it Princess don't worry." And so he stopped talking about it altogether and began telling me jokes which provoked an ugly laugh to come from my lips. 

Draco's POV:

Hearing Aurora's laugh across the hall caused my ears to perk up and my head to snap in her direction, only to see her laughing at something Fred had said. Pansy kept trying to gain my attention again but I told her to be quiet and she turned her attention to Blaise. Poor sod.

Watching her laughing and smiling with Fred rubbed me up the wrong way I knew they had been friends since they were children but I couldn't help but think that in the future when the pair grew older maybe she would fancy him.

I quickly got up marching over to her and asking her if she would join me on a walk as I needed to talk to her about potions. I didn't of course but anything to get her away from Fred. 

"What is the matter?"She asked as we turned down a quiet corridor.

"Honestly?" I sighed earning a nod in response, "I hated seeing Fred making you so happy he always makes you so happy I want to do that for you, I don't like watching other lads do that."

"Draco are you being serious? I literally walked past Pug face being all over you and you were entertaining it!" She was slightly raising her voice at this point which shocked me but I grabbed her hand with mine which was not bandaged up.

"I am sorry I shouldn't have done that I realize that when I asked you on a date that sort of thing should be shut down from now on," I squeezed her hand smiling down at her, "Kinda cute that you got jealous though."

"What about you?! You had to whisk me away you were so jealous." She laughed and a beautiful smile covered her face. We continued our private walk for a while hand in hand before I made sure she got to the common room safely. She gave me a hug which I returned happily before placing a kiss on her forehead and saying goodnight.
