Narrator's POV:
Over the past few weeks, students had fallen into a comfortable routine most sixth years timetables were full lessons all day every day accompanied by quidditch on Friday nights and parties on Saturdays. The past few weeks had also been spent with Harry trying to convince everyone that Draco was a Death Eater which had made for a lot of arguments between him and Aurora. Though Aurora pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind that Draco had been very hot and cold one second he was affectionate the next he wouldn't speak to her for days and if he did he would be incredibly rude.
Aurora's POV:
I met up with Chloe after eating breakfast since we had potions for our first lesson with Professor Slughorn. We made comfortable light conversation for most of the journey until she mentioned how she thought Harry was right and that Draco had been acting strange and that it was very likely that he could be a Death Eater. The way she approached it was like she was trying to appear like a concerned friend but all she was doing was repeating everything Harry had been saying. Instead of starting an argument with her I simply walked faster groaning and entering the potions room walking to my usual table with Draco, Theo, and Blaise I gave them a small smile.
"Good Morning Ms. Durmstrang," I turned to my left where I saw a smiling Professor Slughorn.
"Good morning Professor," I smiled wondering why he'd greeted me having never made such an effort before.
"Aurora is it?" He questioned.
"Why yes, it is Sir," I nodded in response as Draco and the boys watched curiously.
"I know this is maybe peculiar but I was wondering if your mother's name was Emily Watts?" Her name having been mentioned made my heartbeat quicken.
"U-um yes, she was my mother," My voice was quiet.
"I am sorry about what happened to her...she was one of my students a lovely girl very intelligent she was a member of my little club...though from what I've witnessed you don't carry her genes in the potions department," He laughed giving me a small smile which I couldn't help but return.
"Thank you Sir it's always nice to hear about her I don't talk to my father so I'm afraid I don't get to hear as much about her as I'd like and yes I can't say I've ever possessed the genes in the art of potions," I replied reaching Draco and standing by him as Slughorn turned around to greet Harry and Ron. He began explaining the three potions that sat at the front of the room giving us a sample of one of the Amortentia asking us to smell it in groups and describe what we could smell.
I picked it up first bringing the clear bottle up to my nose and letting the smell perforate my senses, " I smell mint, green apples, and a hint of parchment." I smiled knowing I had described Draco who let a small smile peek on his face as he grabbed the potion bottle from me.
"I smell what I can only describe as fresh air and vanilla," I let the smile on my face grow wider as he mentioned the main ingredient of my perfume. He passed the bottle to Blaise who clearly began describing Luna's perfume which Draco couldn't help but tease him for saying he had gone soft. Blaise shoved Draco's arm and gave the potion to Theo who seemed to refuse to tell us what he smelt earning a groan from Blaise in response.
~~~
A few days had past and I hadn't seen Draco apart from the few lessons we shared he hadn't even been going to the great hall for food as far as I knew. I was growing worried about the boy who looked paler and skinnier than the year before and with Harry constantly reminding me that he could be a Death Eater I feared that he might.
Currently, I was walking with Hermione and Ginny to the Slytherin common room for a party that they were hosting, I had opted for some black flares and a red low cut lace bodysuit completely different from my normal style but as always Hermione showed me cool vintage muggle clothes. I couldn't help but not feel excited about the party not wanting to enjoy myself when I didn't know what was happening with Draco, but when I entered the room and saw Fred and George drinking and talking to Ron and Harry those feelings got temporarily pushed to the side. I let my feet carry me running from the common room entrance to the windows where they all stood, Fred, saw me running and put down his drink opening his arms for me which I gladly lept into them squealing with excitement.
