Aurora's POV:
It would be safe to say that Umbridge had ruined the environment at Hogwarts completely she had somehow managed to get rid of Dumbledore completely which left her making hundreds of rules. Each rule more restrictive than the next to the point where boys and girls were no longer permitted to stand within 8 inches of each other, though Draco would always break the rule regardless of the treacherous punishment because he hated seeing me so glum.
Despite Umbridge putting all these rules in place, it hadn't stopped the students from partying at the shrieking shack a tradition that had been taking place every weekend for decades. When Ron first found out about the parties there he initially refused to go but once he was reassured by Freddie and George that it was a lie that the shack wasn't haunted and that people were only told that so they would stay away. Rone gave in. Since we all started going to these parties fifth year hadn't seemed so horrifically boring, and I was more than excited for the weekends now.
Currently, Chloe, Hermione, and I were all in the Gryffindor girls dorms getting ready and having a girly catch-up. I decided to wear an emerald green, silk, strap dress that hugged my figure and stopped mid-thigh pairing it with some white trainers Hermione had got me for my birthday I believe they were muggle brand Nike air 90s. She really is fashion-forward and I loved her for introducing me to some hip muggle brands. Hermione and Chloe were both wearing figure-hugging dresses and they both looked stunning.
We began making our way to the Shrieking shack and I was already regretting not bringing a coat like Hermione and Chloe, the winter air nipped at my bare arms and legs like a child bully relentless in its pursuit. I wrapped my arms around my body to preserve any warmth I had before Hermione who had been smart enough to bring her wand placed a heating charm around me so I would stop complaining.
By the time we arrived at the Shrieking Shack, the party was in full swing, 90s muggle music pulsating through everyone's bodies, the smell of alcohol and smoke thick in the air, and the floors shaking from everyone's bodies dancing on the old oak floors. We made our way to the back of the room where Harry and Ron were sat drinking chatting amongst themselves, grabbing some gin that some Hufflepuff muggles had brought we tried our best to catch up with everyone else.
After half an hour I found myself entirely bored of talking on the floor with everyone and after seeing Freddie dancing on a table with George on another table next to him I knew who I'd rather be around. Standing up Hermione too decided to join me in getting another drink but I didn't see her join Harry, Ron, and Chloe again not thinking much of it I ran up to the table where Freddie was dancing. He extended his hand to help me up on the wooden table and I decided to chug the remainder of my gin throwing my plastic cup behind me and grabbing the whiskey bottle from Freddie to have a few sips before letting the music take a hold of me.
At some point, I ended up on Freddie's shoulders screaming the lyrics of some muggle song as he moved us to stable ground and Blaise and Theo began some sort of dance routine on the very tables me and Freddie had previously been dancing on. Leaning down to Freddie's ear I asked if he had any more fire whiskey in which he said he didn't so I decided to jump from his shoulders and go find myself some more and maybe on my travels I would find my better half.
I was thankful that I decided against wearing heels tonight as I stumbled my way to the other room where the drinks were and where it appeared fewer people were. I began rummaging through the bottles grateful to find an unopened bottle of fire whiskey that could never be too cautious. I felt arms slip around my waist from behind but quickly I sensed my it wasn't Draco's presence behind me. As I slip out of the unknown man's sleazy hands turning on my heels sharply I come face to face with Adrian Percy who was smirking down at me.
"Your smart enough to know to keep your sleazy hands away from me if you know what's good for you," I spat beginning to walk away from the boy before his hand latched around my wrist it felt like razors against my skin at how tight his grip was. I winced in pain looking at the boy with slight panic in my eyes," You better fucking let go of me Percy," I said with venom in my voice a poor attempt to seem threatening.
"You'd do yourself a lot of good if you stopped resisting Aurora and who am I supposed to be worried about, Draco? What's that daddy's boy going to do?" He spat in response as his other hand reached to wrap around my throat and his face was inches from mine, I thought quickly going to headbutt the boy and using my knee to knee him where the sun doesn't shine. His grip around my wrist and throat loosened as he went to hold his head and I used this as an opportunity to run back into the other room my eyes quickly finding Draco's. I walked towards him as he glanced in my direction pausing whatever he was going to say to Blaise and Theo before continuing.
"Draco can I talk to you," I raised my voice so he could hear me but he ignored me, my heart dropped as I searched his eyes with my panicked ones," Draco I really need to talk to you," I persisted but he was clearly still annoyed about losing to Gryffindor that evening and the alcohol and whatever else was in his system wasn't making him as kind as he usually was to me.
"Aurora do you mind I'm talking to Blaise and Theo you know you can be so bloody clingy at times will you stop relying on me to provide you happiness for five fucking minutes," He hissed, and as he finished his statement I was roughly turned around and shoved backward by Adrian Percy who was seemingly heaving with anger as he stared down at me, the action caused many people who were dancing to stop drawing their attention my way.
"Who the fuck do you think you are huh? Think you can do what you did and runoff not a fucking chance you little bitch I'm going to fucking kill you," Adrian yelled his voice causing me to flinch slightly as I stood as tall as I could ready to defend myself against the boy who was a foot taller than myself.
"I don't have a fucking clue what's happed Percy but you better have a dam good reason why the hell your handling my girl like that and talking to her the way you are?" Draco bellowed as he instantly stood in front of me putting an arm across my front protectively, "Darling do you wanna tell me what's happened?" He turned his head to look at me still remaining in the same position but waiting for my response.
"Adrian grabbed my wrist in the other room when I went to get a drink and when I told him to let go he put his other hand around my neck...I managed to escape by headbutting him and kneeing him in his you know," I paused looked into the boys blue eyes that had changed to a dark abyss, his jaw had clenched and his nose flared. He was angry not just angry he looked like he was going to kill Adrian and everyone knew it no one was moving a muscle.
"Yeh and what you going to do about it Malfoy little daddy's bo-" His sentence was cut short when Draco's fist collided with Adrian's face and before I knew it Draco began throwing punches left and right at the boy who only managed to get two in before he was thrown to the ground by Draco who hovered above him as he continued throwing punches. Adrian was spitting up blood and barely able to catch a breath before another punch would throw him off, Blaise and Theo quickly moved to grab Draco off the boy but were struggling. Freddie and George moved to pull Adrian from under Draco who was being pushed against a wall by Blaise and Theo. Freddie and George then began dragging Adrian outside and I had no doubt Freddie would add to the mess Draco had made.
As Adrian was dragged out of the room Draco began yelling," Percy I swear to fucking Merin if I see you even look at Aurora I won't hesitate to fucking kill you! That understood you piece of shit? You or anyone in this fucking room will never lay a hand on my girl ever again!" When Adrian left the room Draco shook Blaise and Theo off him walking up to me lifting my chin to look at my neck and then letting his hands fall to mine to examine my wrists that were still red. I locked my gaze on his bloodied knuckles as I heard him mutter under his breath that he was going to kill Adrian.
"Draco I'm okay my love it's okay don't worry. Come on why don't we get a drink?" I asked tentatively worried I would anger him.
"I'm sorry for brushing you off darling I shouldn't have and I'm sorry I haven't seen you all night or this wouldn't have happened." He muttered, I stopped his rambling by placing a kiss on his lips and lacing our fingers together making our way into the other room to grab a drink. We began talking as we walked through the crowd who had fallen back into the same atmosphere they were in previously. We walked into the other room when Draco stopped talking and my attention fell onto where he was looking, Harry and Chloe were kissing.
"Why don't we just go back to your dorm?" I giggled as he nodded in response muttering how Potter hadn't done half bad getting Chloe.
