Narrator's pov:

Months went by as the Christmas break neared closer only one week away and everyone seemed to fall into a routine nothing particularly notable occurring. During that period Aurora would have to continually stop arguments between the trio and Draco who found any chance to be at each other's throats which was more than irritating for poor Aurora. Especially, since Draco and Aurora had been continuing to go for coffees at Hogsmeade most weekends and meeting at the Astronomy tower on a nightly basis and neither of the pair wanted anyone to know about their little arrangement. Why? Aurora knew that the trio nor the twins nor anyone at Gryfindor or even Chloe for that matter would not be best pleased about the pair's dates let alone if they actually started dating. Similarly, Draco knew that if his goons or his family or people in Slytherin were to find out about the pair they would not be happy either, well all except Blaise who seemed to know something was happening and was actually encouraging Draco to spend more time with Aurora.

Breakfast had always been the most chaotic meal of the day people running around trying to get something to eat before the elves cleaned it up because they slept in, people actually falling asleep at the table not enjoying the early wake up, some furiously doing homework they clearly left till the last minute and obviously as that was when the mail came. Aurora would owl her father every week on a Sunday and would have a reply by mid-week and though his replies were always short she was grateful for the reply knowing that was, in reality, her only chance to speak to him.

Aurora's POV:

The commotion of owls came swooping into the great hall each dropping letters and packages to different people. My father's owl swooped down perching on the table to hand me my letter and waiting for me to give him a pet or two before flying off. The conversations around me seemed to fade into the background not like they were particularly important anyway. Harry and Ron were discussing something to do with the upcoming Quttich game, Hermione was talking to Neville about herbology and the twins were discussing a prank I believe on Snape.

I turned over the envelope looking at the silver wax seal bearing the family emblem breaking the barrier between the wax and the paper I pulled out the parchment:

'Dearest Aurora,

I am writing to inform you that I have had recent correspondence with the Weasleys over the matter of you coming to Bulgaria for Christmas. You see our family is not planning on doing much for Christmas this year and I personally would like a holiday, therefore, I have decided I will be going to Australia for the holiday period. If you would like to attend the family house to see your grandparents write to them and I am sure they would be delighted to see you.

P.S Find enclosed in the envelope another smaller one which contains some money that is your Christmas present.

From Stephan."

I couldn't believe it I was shocked he really decided to go on holiday knowing full well this was the only time I would see him till summer the following year. What a complete arsehole he was slowly cutting me out of his life his own daughter for Merlin's sake. Rage took over my body I felt helpless to the feeling it bubbling inside me like a potion being incorrectly brewed. Quickly, in one swift fluid motion, I grabbed the envelope and my bag throwing it over my shoulder, and without even a glance in my friend's direction, I stormed out of the room barging my way past a crowd of people who had just come into the hall earning more than a few wicked glances and mutterings.

Making my way to my favorite spot in the castle I was breathless when I finally got to the top of the Astronomy tower perching myself so that I was leaning over the railing. I let out a scream releasing the rage which had stewed in the 15 minutes it took me to get where I was and all that was left behind was sadness and anxiety. I was heartbroken my father was slowly cutting me out of his life first it was telling me to go to the burrow over holidays and only come to Bulgaria for two weeks in the summer and a few days over Christmas. Next, it was ignoring me and avoiding me when I was with him, then it was the fact we only ever talked in letters. Finally, the nail in the coffin was that the only time I could potentially see him he bailed, and not only that he wrote the letter as if to say don't contact me again if you need anything to talk to your grandparents and he couldn't even be bothered to buy me a present simply sending me money as if that was something I was concerned with when I wanted to see him. He signed the letter Stephan, not father why was I not good enough?

My mother had passed in the battle and left me and her family wanted nothing to do with me so they left me and now my own father was leaving me. Everyone always left me.

"Aurora what's wrong?" The platinum blond boy was just as breathless as me when he approached me almost tiptoeing like he was terrified he would scare me away. I looked at him with teary eyes my lip quivering shoving the letter toward him. He gently took it from my grasp reading it over for a few moments.

"What a fucking arsehole!" He muttered looking down at me he placed the letter in his pocket proceeding to walk towards me cupping my cheeks in both hands he wiped away the tears placing a tender kiss on my forehead before wrapping me in his arms engulfing me.

"Everyone constantly leaves me Draco why am I not enough." I sobbed into his chest. The statement caused him to pull us appart enough so he could see my face and with one arm still wrapped securely around my waist he used the other to cup my cheek," Aurora I promise I will never leave you I will always be a constant in you life you will always have me ." The confidence that came from his voice gave me hope something I craved.

"Always?' I questioned I had to I was already growing too attached to the blond in front of me and if I didn't mean anything to him I needed to know.

"Always darling. Even if we are miles apart, no matter if it's the sun is setting and the moon is rising, I will be there for you always my Aurora." He smiled down at me he had never been so vulnerable with me I was so thankful for this boy.

"I'll be your always too anything for my Draco." I smiled up at him.

"So if your my Aurora and I'm your Draco where does that put us exactly." He questioned since we had never actually discussed the matter.

"I'm not sure I think that could be a conversation for another time for now we are each other's that's all we need to know." I replied standing on my tip toes to give him a kiss on the cheek which he gladly accepted.
