Narrator's POV:
Tensions between Draco and Aurora had been at an all-time high since Umbridge had disbanded the army Harry had created a week ago. Though Draco had apologized countless times Aurora was still keen on giving the blond boy the cold shoulder for betraying her and her friends though Draco himself felt betrayed that Aurora hadn't told him about the army. Knowing deep down within himself that he would never have betrayed her by telling Umbridge if she had decided to tell him.
Friday evening meant quidditch this particular night it was Slytherin vs Gryffindor the match would certainly rile tensions between students. Winter was in full swing a light layer of snow had covered Hogwarts just in time for Christmas break commencing that Friday despite the weather the students were ready for the match.
Aurora's POV:
Normally, when Slytherin played even if it was against Gryfindor I would always be clad in Draco's quidditch jersey supporting the captain of the Slytherin team my boyfriend. However, this past week Draco and I had muttered what felt like two words to one another the rest were simply arguments, so I decided against wearing his jersey this time.
Hermione, Ginny, and I made our way with the Gryffindor quidditch team from the common room to the pitch. Before matches, we would always join the boys in the locker room which joined with the opposing team so I knew I would bump into Draco at some point but didn't think much of it. I sat next to Fred talking about his recent detention with Umbridge when my eyes met Chloe who sheepishly came into the locker room wearing Harry's spare jersey? I couldn't help the smile that formed on my face as I nudged Fred who matched my smile when Harry ran up to the blond girl giving her a quick kiss. Not even five minutes later all us girls were being told to leave by Harry, giving Fred a hug I caught Draco glaring at us from the corner of my eye.
"Oh nearly forgot, "Fred muttered as he went to his locker grabbing his Gryffindor scarf handing it to me," It's cold out there can't have you freezing," He smiled I thanked him putting it on, and ran to join the girls not before stealing a glance at Draco who was as expected furious. Well serves you right I thought to myself.
"What's going on between you and Draco? Have you broken up?" Hermione asked as we began climbing up the stairs to the stands.
"What no not at all?!" I exclaimed surprised by her question.
"You are not wearing his jersey for the first time in over a year and your wearing Fred's scarf so my guess is you are trying to piss him off?" She questioned when we finally reached the top taking a seat in the front row. I knew taking Fred's scarf would piss Draco off but it wasn't like he would act on it?
"Honestly I haven't got the slightest clue I guess I just don't care anymore," I huffed in response.
The Gryffindor team flew from the locker rooms in formation and Hermione and I began cheering jumping from our seats as they flew by us. Once they were in a position the Slytherin team was announced and they flew out in a formation flying past and getting into a position too. The game began steadily and both teams would occasionally score but when Fred finally scored I couldn't help but cheer louder proud of my friend.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Draco fly down to his two beaters whispering something in both their ears before flying back next to Harry, I furrowed my eyebrows in suspicion. Within a minute the two Slytherin beaters flew to either side of Fred at lightning speed and crashed into him at the same time causing Fred to lose control of his broom and begin a descent to the ground. Luckily, Professor Hooch used a spell to stop his fall and land him on the ground safely. As that was happening Draco managed to catch the golden snitch winning the game for Slytherin.
The players began their descent to the ground and I quickly ran down the stairs to the pitch I was furious and I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins. Running towards the center of the pitch I saw Fred being held back by George as he yelled things at Draco who was being held back by Blaise. I put myself between the two boys facing Draco.
"You better have dam good reason for that stunt Malfoy!" I spat using my pointer finger to prod his chest, he scoffed rolling his eyes before pointing at my knitted jumper then he grabbed Fred's Gryffindor scarf that was loose around my neck and pulled it off.
"This...this is my fucking reason Aurora you wanna pretend that you aren't my girlfriend is that what you wanna do? You wanna wear Weaslebee's scarf like he's your boyfriend? Guess you wouldn't mind if I acted as single as you have been doing? So fucking what your little army got found out I didn't have anything to do with it baring bring Cho to the room when we found you all, I apologized that should have been the end of it." He replied in a harsh tone as he threw Fred his scarf glaring at him in the process.
"No, I wasn't acting like you aren't my boyfriend I was annoyed at you but if you wanna act single I fucking dare you to do it Draco," I spat in return raising my eyebrows at him.
"Don't you come crying to me at the outcome I can act single without a problem just like you have been." He stated before turning on his heels.
"You are more likely to stop before I would Draco because you couldn't hack watching me with someone else," I spat the anger clouding my thoughts not really thinking through what we were proposing.
"It's a done deal darling," He mumbled," See you at the after-party," he muttered rolling his eyes before walking away with Blaise.
