"Shit! Overpriced fucking asshole!" Fugo cursed while kicking the arcade game that him and his other two friends were huddled around. He had lost another game of Dragon's Lair yet again, not being able to beat Mista's unreasonably higher-than-his score, wasting another of his twenty-five cents in the machine. Narancia was laughing at his misfortune as Mista smirked, the sounds of many other arcade games going off in the background.
It was a mystery on how they managed to get Narancia here without his mother trying to come with him, although there was a strict eight o'clock curfew for him and no biking home. Mela's been picking him up whenever he went out with them or hung out at one of their houses to make sure that a repeat of last year didn't happen. Narancia's been getting weekly checkups at the same place that was responsible for his disappearance, though a new doctor was appointed to fill Brenner's position.
"You lose again, Fugo." Mista tantalized making Fugo glare at the hat wearing boy, watching as he leaned over to point at the girl on the screen. "But until you win, Princess Daphne is still mine!" He smiled at the blonde haired damsel before being shoved away by Fugo, Narancia glancing at the machine that was soon taken as he followed behind the two.
He seen that the two were caught in a conversation with the stingy manager of the arcade, Keith, and frowned, walking over to them. "Dig Dug and Centipede are the highest scores I have in this place, no one could possibly get better than me." Fugo insisted with an assured gaze, cringing when the man in front of him ate another Cheeto puff and smiled down at him.
"Are you sure about that?" He mocked and Pannacotta's confidence wavered at the comment, his eyes glancing away for a moment before he turned around. He made a dash for the arcade games that held his high scores and pushed whoever was on it out of the way. It took him too long to get that and wasted too much of his money trying to get it, no one in this small town could beat it without him knowing of it.
Mista held back a laugh when Fugo's eyes widened at the numbers and name above his, his face practically red and his lips pursing. "No. Way. Who?" He stammered out as his hands tightly gripped the sides of the machine and his head moved so he could see the smirk on the manager's face. "Tell me who this is!" Narancia didn't get why Fugo was so mad about his score being bested but he assumed that it wasn't because someone got it, but because of how much money and time he put into getting it only for someone to pass it in a day.
"If you want answers, I'm gonna need something in return." Keith looked at Fugo with a knowing stare and the white haired boy shook his head, rejecting whatever unspoken question it was that he was asking. Mista glanced at Narancia to see if he was alright while Fugo was arguing with the other teen and found the boy walking away from them towards the doors of the place.
Mista's eyebrows furrowed but he let it go, thinking that he might just be getting some air. It was pretty stuffy in here with all the kids and teenagers playing on the games.
"I'm not getting you a date with my sister when she's not even in Hawkins anymore! Besides, I don't think I need to know that much." Fugo remarked and Keith shrugged his shoulders, eating another Cheeto before walking away from the duo to check on something else. Fugo sighed and turned to Mista, finding the boy staring at him with an amused look on his face. "What are you looking at?" He snapped making Guido raise his hands in defense and hide a smile, moving away from him to go play a game.
Fugo looked around for Narancia only to frown when he couldn't find him, his eyes landing on the exit and catching a glimpse of his orange jacket that made him stick out. He quickly headed towards him, opening the doors to see that he was too busy looking at the spinning 'Arcade Palace' sign. "Narancia? What're you doing out here?"
