[I Think We're Alone Now]
___

Nighttime had long since come over Hawkins when the duo of Bruno and Mista reached the latter's house to kill the thing that he found. They stood at the entrance of the locked storm cellar, Bruno shining a light on it while Mista unlocked it and pulled open the doors. They slammed against the sides of the cellar making them flinch at the loud noise, Mista quickly backing away and standing next to Bruno again as they waited for any sign of the creature that the boy managed to trap down there.

No sound of gurgling or growling came from inside and Bruno frowned, his hand moving to point the flashlight at Mista, the light blinding the younger teen. "If I find out that this was just some prank, I'll make sure you'll regret it." He glared at him, he was already having a bad enough day, he didn't need some kid ruining it even more.

"It's not!" Mista insisted while putting a hand up to block the beam from hurting his eyes, an equally as frustrated scowl on his face. "Now could you please do something about him so I can pretend like this didn't happen? I have other things to worry about than some overgrown creature." Bruno was quiet, the light not straying away from Mista, before he sighed and directed it back at the cellar with a small 'thank you' coming from the boy.

Bruno wondered when he had become an executioner, for a creature that a weird kid found nonetheless, but he brushed it off as he took the first step into the darkness after giving Mista his flashlight. He had the crowbar from (Y/n)'s in his hand and it was raised in case of any sneak attack from the thing hiding down in the cellar, Bruno's blue eyes scanning the darkened area for the light. His palms were sweaty from how nerve wracking it was and his jaw was clenched tightly, his shoes stepping on small stones and making them crunch underneath him.

"Did you find him yet? Bruno?" Mista called down, Bruno having disappeared from his line of sight and vanished into the cellar. "Are you alright down there?" After he said that, the light to the cellar switched on and Bruno's black hair appeared a moment later, his face looking worried and slightly afraid. "What's wrong?" Mista asked while the older teen motioned with his head for him to come down, the boy hesitantly doing as directed.

Bruno walked through the cellar until he made it to one of the walls and he crouched down next to it, using the crowbar to lift a slimy piece of leather looking skin out of the giant hole that was made in the wall and showing it to Mista. "Holy shit." He breathed out as he cringed at the familiar appearance of the molted skin, his eyes widening at the hole that it was stuck in. "He molted again, that's the second time in two days." Mista noted making Bruno look at him with an even more worried expression on his face after hearing about the molting.

"This thing is growing?" The black haired male questioned and Mista nodded, a nervous smile on his face as he stood back up to his full height. "How big was it when you found it?" Bruno was scared to ask and the response wasn't any better, Mista raising his hands to be five inches apart, roughly the size of his palm. Whatever made the hole in the wall was nowhere near that size and must've grown over five times the size of its original.

Bruno had no idea what this kid had gotten himself into, but it was anything but good.

(Y/n) woke up with a smile on his face and his body warm, although it wasn't from the sun shining in through the window, instead it was from the arm that was wrapped around waist and the head that on his shoulder. Abbacchio looked cold but his body was warm as it pressed against his and (Y/n) couldn't tear his eyes away from the peaceful expression on the his face that was usually in a scowl. It almost felt normal, like they weren't sleeping on a pullout couch in a private investigator's weird house, but it was probably the closest to normal they could get in their lives.
