[In The Air Tonight]
___

The ringing of the phone sounded louder than it would've, the noise echoing throughout the house and managing to travel all the way to the shed where the only Ghirga child resided. His eyes were glued to the direction of where it was coming from and recognition flashed through them, his brain registering and realizing that he was being held at his home. It knew where they were now and it wouldn't be long before they'd show up to find them.

Mela and Fugo were frozen for a moment as they heard the phone get cut off and their gazes were stuck on the boy in front of them. They saw the way he quickly connected the dots of the familiar ringing and the layout of the place he was in, finally being able to tell where he was being kept and alerting the being watching them through his eyes. How could they be exposed just as they began to figure out how to help Narancia in freeing him from the control of the Mind Flayer?

Nothing seemed to go right for them when they needed it to, but they couldn't give up now.

"Hurry, we need to bring him back in the house before those things show up!" Mela rushed while grabbing the syringe that had the sedative from out of her pocket, taking the cap off and carefully injecting it in the unwilling Narancia. Fugo struggled to untie the knots that they tied around his friend and hissed when the tips of his fingers started to burn from the rope but eventually him and Mela got them loosened enough to slip him out of it.

Mela picked up the skinny boy and adjusted him in her arms until he was in the right position before she headed out of the shed, running as fast as she could with the added weight back to the house. Fugo was in front of her and hurried up the steps to open the door for the woman, his eyes scanning the yard to see if there were any of the Demodogs yet but he couldn't find any. The woman rushed inside and got into the house just in time to see Bruno ripping her landline off the wall and smashing it on the floor to stop it from ringing any longer.

He showed no regret or guilt in not bothering to check who it was that called, barely giving it a glance after he broke it. They couldn't call anyone anymore, Jotaro had called the military for help but god knows how unbelievable their story sounded even if he was the police chief. They were alone if the military didn't already know their location, they had to deal with it on their own now.

"They know where we are!" Mela exclaimed while gently laying Narancia on the couch in the living room, her face panicked and hands trembling as she thought about what would happen if they were found by the younger Demogorgons outside. There was no way that they'd be able to fight those things on their own, not with guns at least, they were too fast and too intelligent to fight with what they had.

(Y/n) watched the house erupt into chaos from the sidelines, his eyes flickering between panicking children to teenagers to adults with a feeling of uselessness. He had no idea what he was supposed to do or if he was even supposed to do anything at all, he hadn't been here to see it all start and he left when they were talking about it all which was stupid on his part, it was a change from last year. Bruno was too busy helping with getting things to protect themselves against the Demodogs, or whatever that weird kid had called them, so he couldn't get a quick pep talk from him but he knew it wouldn't help him.

"God, I'm useless." He breathed to himself with a slight chuckle as he shook his head and looked towards the living room that didn't have anyone running around in it, his eyes finding a head of white hair on the old couch against the wall of peeling wallpaper. Leone seemed to have been avoiding the scrambling people in the other room as he twisted a ring that was on his pinky finger and stared at a stain on the rug beneath his feet. He appeared to be thinking about something, his lips pulled down into a deep frown and his brows drawn together as he thought to himself.
