[Introduction]
___

The cool November morning air brushed past his open window, chilling his heated skin that peeked out from under the blanket. He pulled the comforter closer to himself and smiled when he was covered in warmth once again. He could hear the kids outside, calling for their friends as they rode their bikes to school and the sound of cars driving by.

He didn't want to wake up, it was one of the nicer days where it wasn't too cold out and he wanted to spend it in bed with a book. But school forced him to get up and get ready for another day of routine work. He didn't hate it like other kids, he appreciated his teachers dedication to teaching even if they did want to retire but lack of teachers made them stay.

"Bruno!" His mother called for him from downstairs and he sighed before finally throwing the blanket off him and pushing himself up to get begin the day.

Abbacchio woke up with a headache, nothing out of the ordinary, and he rubbed his temples to try and ease the pain. He hated hangovers, they were a menace, but it was his fault for getting into the routine of drinking. The sun shining in through his window burned his eyes, his hand moving away from his head to block it.

His parents were already at work which left the house to him. Good, they didn't have to see him looking pathetic like this again. He groaned as a wave of nausea hit him before pushing off his bed and walking out of his room to take a shower. God, let today be a short one.

(Y/n) sat at the dining room table with a plate of bacon and eggs in front of him, his eyes staying on the dish as his parents chatted about something. Something being the colleges that they wanted him to go to. He didn't know how to tell them that he'd never end up going to any of the places that they wanted him to go, he didn't even want to go to school let alone college.

"What do you think, Honey?" His mother hummed making (Y/n) look towards her, a piece of bacon pinched between his fingers as he went to eat it. "You're the one going. What do you have to say about college?"

He gently set the meat back on his plate before nodded, "Yeah, whatever you want." He mumbled and she smiled, happy that he was thinking about it. Only it wasn't in the way that she thought it was.

(Y/n) fiddled with his fork for a moment until he had to leave for school, quickly getting up from his chair and grabbing his jacket. "See you later!" His parents called but he didn't answer, his form already out the door and heading towards his car.

He took a deep breath of relief once he made it inside the vehicle and leaned his head back against the headrest. He knew that if he told them then they'd not only be disappointed, but angered that he, their only child, wasn't going anywhere in life. He didn't want to risk getting kicked out since he had nowhere to go except his asshole friends' house and they're all using him for his money.

Shaking his head to rid himself of the thoughts, he started the car and pulled out of the driveway to start on his way to school. He didn't need to think about this right now, he still had another two years until he finished school.

His fingers drummed against the steering wheel in beat with the song playing on the radio, his eyes watching out for any kids that might run or bike across the road suddenly. He caught the eye of some of the elementary students when he drove by them on their bicycles, the two glaring at him from the disinterested look he gave them.
