[Save a Prayer]

"How do you know how to do this, Mista?" Bruno asked as he watched the boy tug open the door to (Y/n)'s garage, the thing flying up and giving them entry to the room. Mista stepped inside with a shrug of his shoulders while Bruno hesitantly walked in and looked around the moderately sized garage, it wasn't the biggest place in the house but it did its job of being a good storage room.
There was boxes of things that had labels on them written in black sharpie but the dust collecting on them told them that they hadn't been opened in ages. "It was already unlocked." Mista answered as he picked up an old crowbar that was leaning against a toolbox, experimentally swinging it before he accidentally dropped it on the ground.
The clang made the two jump and Bruno looked over to see what made the noise, finding Mista scrambling to place the crowbar back where he found it. "We have to be quiet!" Bruno scolded as he walked over to the boy and grabbed the crowbar from him, his eyes staring down at it thoughtfully. It used to be (Y/n)'s weapon of choice but Bruno was the last one to use it, having beat the Demogorgon into getting trapped by the bear trap that they laid out for it. He rubbed his thumb over the cool metal before he twirled it around and slipped it inside his bag, looking down at the boy watching him.
"Is there anything you see that you might want to use as a weapon?" Bruno asked as he left the garage to stand in the driveway, looking around to make sure that no one had seen them. Mista shook his head and followed him out while the black haired teen pulled the string down and closed the garage door back up. "Good, I don't want to stay here any longer than I need to. (Y/n) wouldn't be happy to see me inside his garage with some kid."
The two tried to leave the neighborhood as quickly as they could, Mista riding his bike next to Bruno on the street while the older male walked on the sidewalk. The sun was setting and Bruno knew that he'd have to be heading home soon, his parents were probably worried since he never called to tell them where he was last night and he still hasn't returned.
"So, how do you know that this thing isn't a lizard?" The walking teen asked as he glanced at the boy who was struggling to keep his slow pace. He could've been back to his house by now but Bruno was slower than he thought, he should've looked for the keys for the car that was back there.
Mista rolled his eyes and groaned in annoyance, ignoring the disapproving look that the other gave him. "Want to know how I know it's not a lizard? Because it's face opened up and it ate my cat." He remarked making Bruno go quiet for a moment, attempting to rack his brain for any lizard big enough to do such a thing, but he came up with blanks. He supposed that was a good reason to believe that it wasn't a lizard, for now.
"I guess that would be a good excuse." He muttered, the duo continuing down the street in silence except for the occasional question that Mista would ask.

(Y/n) stared out the window at the dark and starry sky from where he laid on the pull out bed that Polnareff had so graciously let them sleep on for the night, the two agreeing that it was better than sleeping at some motel or in (Y/n)'s car. They both didn't want to sleep on the floor and knowing Abbacchio, he'd probably pull the same thing that he did in the car if he suggested sleeping in the same bed with him, but after much debate they made it to the very conclusion.
Speaking of that event, he couldn't figure out why Abbacchio would ever decide to do something like that. Was it actually because of the topic they were talking about, was he trying to test him to see if he got a reaction out of him? It did, if he was looking for an answer, (Y/n) was hot and bothered as if he were a kid again and he didn't know why. Abbacchio never showed any interest in him if he was acting on his feelings, he might have said a few things and even did things that he wouldn't have usually done with others but he never made a move on him.
