"Will?" Mom calls from downstairs. "Can you run some errands for me?"
I walk downstairs about a minute later, standing at the kitchen counter. "Whatcha need me to do?" I ask.
She hands me a list. "Thank you, sweetie!"
"No problem, Mom!"

I grab the list, my phone, wallet, and car keys. I need to go to the store and pick some stuff up.

I start my car, turning the radio down a little bit and turning on the heat.

As I pull out of our neighborhood, my sister, Lily, drives past, waving at me.

I wave at a girl who works here as I walk in, grabbing a shopping cart and pulling Mom's list out of my pocket. I decide to start at the produce section and work my way through the store.

As I'm walking through the baking aisle, my eye catches on someone, an employee, but his name tag is flipped around. They turn around, a scar runs just under his right eye. He smiles grimly at me, his eyes cold and lifeless as he stared at me.
"You have no idea who I am, do you?" He asks.
I look at him, and then shake my head.
He laughs. "I'm no one to remember." He says, his voice so low it's nearly a whisper. When he gets closer, there's a scar under his lip.
My heart starts to beat a little faster, because I have no clue who this is.
"I'm not who I used to be. But you know who I am." He says, looking me over again. "You'll figure it out."

He walks off, leaving me standing confused and alone in the aisle.

After I help Mom put the groceries away, I run up the stairs to my room, looking through my old yearbooks. The thing is, I do know him. He looks SO familiar, but like he said, he's different. As I flip through the pages, my eye catches on someone: Waylon Chance. I pick the book up, bringing it closer to me. It can't be— Waylon Chance is supposed to be dead.
