"Hey, you comin' over tonight?" My best friend, Shane, asks.
"Yeah," I reply, looking over at him. "I'll probably be over right after school,"
"I won't be home for about an hour and a half, but would you mind going over as soon as you can? Mom is determined that Seb can't be home alone,"
"Why?"
"Because he forgot to his homework one day last week and now she's convinced that someone has to be there with him while he does it,"
"That's---okay, yeah, sure,"
"Alright, I'll let him know. Thank you!"

After school, I drive home and pick up my duffel bag and then I drive over to Seb and Shane's house.
Shane and I have been best friends since the beginning of fifth grade. We're now Seniors, and Seb is a Junior. I pull in the driveway, grab my phone and my keys, and then I walk up to the front door and knock.
Seb comes to the door.
"Oh, hi, Kyree," he says looking at me. "Shane isn't here right now,"
"I know, he told me about your mom," I say.
He nods in understanding. "Well, you should probably come watch me do my homework... do you want a drink or anything? We have tea, lemonade, milk, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper..."
"I'll take a Pepsi, please, and thanks,"

I follow Seb up the stairs to his bedroom. He sits down at his desk as I sit on the end of his bed.
"Do you know how to do sine, cosine, and tangent?" he asks me.
"Uh, yeah, actually, I do," I say, getting off the bed and walking over to his desk.
"It's this problem right here," he points to number eight.
I look at it and then start to explain it to him, helping him work through all of the problems (8-16, even) he had.

"Thank you," he says, looking into my eyes.
I smile. "You're welcome,"
"I'm home!" Shane calls as he closes the front door.
Seb and I both jump back, and I realize just how close we actually were.
"I'm gonna..." I say, trailing off as I point over my shoulder with my thumb.
He nods.

I leave Seb's room and go into Shane's room, sitting on the edge of his bed. I pull my phone out of my pocket and open Snapchat. I see Seb has posted on his story and tap on it to watch it. It's a picture of his desk and it's captioned "think I might be lovestruck"
"Who's your brother into?" I ask Shane, closing the app and turning off my phone as I look up to look at Shane.
"I didn't think he was," Shane says.
"Look at his Snap story,"
"He hasn't told me about it, whoever it is," he says after looking.

"I've gotta run out again," Shane says. "Mom needs help getting something from the furniture store, I'm so sorry,"
"It's okay, don't worry about it, I can stay here," I say.
"Seb, I've gotta go help Mom, I'll be back, Ky is staying here," Shane shouts to Seb.
"Okay!" Seb shouts back.

A few minutes after Shane has left I hear footsteps coming down the hallway. Seb walks into Shane's room. I look up from my phone at him.
"H-" I begin.
He bends over me and presses his mouth to mine.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," I say, pushing him back.
He smirks and leans in again, touching his lips to mine. This time, he drops down onto my lap, both of his legs hanging down on either side of mine. He puts a hand on the back of my neck.
I lean back to pull away from his lips.
"Seb--" I begin, breathless.
"Your brother," I start.
He kisses me again, getting off of my lap and grabbing my hands, lacing his fingers through mine. He stretches out our arms and starts walking backward. He drops my hands and puts one of his on the back of my neck, his thumb brushing my face. He puts his other hand on my lower back, holding me close. He's still moving backward. As he continues kissing me, I decide it's not worth it trying to say anything because he'll just kiss me again... And I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it. Somehow he manages to get us both from Shane's room to his without pulling back. He shoves me backward onto his bed and drops down onto my lap. He pulls back slowly, leaning his head against mine.
"I-" I stammer.
"Ssh," he shushes, pushing a finger against my lips and dragging it down slightly so that my bottom lip is pulled down. I close my eyes against his touch, leaning my head against his.
"What about Shane?" I whisper, opening my eyes and looking up into his ocean blue ones.
"He doesn't have to know if you don't want him too," Seb says, putting a finger under my chin and lifting my head.
"I wanna be with you," I blurt.
"I do too, but when people start dating, don't they keep it to themselves for the first few days?"
"Sometimes, but--Seb, I don't wanna wait to show you off in public. We should tell Shane, it's the least we can do..."
"Okay, then we tell Shane," he whispers, looking into my forest green eyes.
"Kiss me," I whisper.
He smiles and leans his head down, pressing his lips against mine. I bring my hand up, tucking it in his dark, golden blonde curls.

Shane comes back about an hour later.
Even though it's Thursday, I'm spending the night (this was already a thing before Seb and I happened) tonight and tomorrow night (Friday). I'm sitting on the edge of Seb's bed and Seb is sitting in his desk chair.
"Why do I feel like you're about to drop a bomb on me?" Shane asks as he stands in the doorway of Seb's room.
"'Cause we are," Seb says.
Shane looks at me; I smile at him nervously. His eyes widen.
"You're not--" he begins.
"Not what?" Seb asks, for clarification, I assume.
"Did you do it?" Shane asks.
"Do what?" Seb asks again.
"Kiss him?"
"Yeah,"
"Wait, you said you didn't know who he liked," I interject, looking at Shane.
"Well, in all fairness, I didn't think he was talking about you. He's been talking about you since seventh grade." Shane says, looking at me. "Which, if you hurt my little brother, I will hunt you down and hurt you."
I hold my hands up. "I wouldn't hurt Seb," I say.
"I know, but I've gotta be the overprotective brother sometimes,"
We all smile at each other.

Shane walks into Seb's room with my duffel bag and throws it on the floor.
I look up at him.
"Just sleep in here," he says. "I feel like you're gonna end up in here anyway,"
I blush and Seb buries his head in my shoulder.

Seb takes a picture of me laying beside him in his bed and posts it to his Snapchat story with the caption "my baby😘👀🥺". We've played sports together in the past, actually right now too, because it's baseball season. I have a picture of us from a recent practice and post it to my Instagram with the caption "he's not just my teammate #mybaby 💙❤️⚾🥰".

"What do you think people at school will say?" I ask Seb late that night.
"Does it matter?" Seb replies, tipping my chin. "Don't worry about them, alright?"
He presses his lips against mine softly.
"Goodnight, Ky," Seb whispers softly, kissing me once more.
"Goodnight, Seb," I tell him, looking up at him and kissing him.

The next morning, I wake up to Seb's alarm going off as I'm tangled up in his arms.
He smiles when he opens his eyes and sees me.
We get dressed quickly and head downstairs. My backpack is still in my car, but Seb grabs his.
"You wanna ride with me and we can stop by McDonald's?" I ask Seb.
He nods. "Let's go. Shane, I'm going with Ky!' he calls quietly.

When we pull in the school parking lot, Seb turns to me.
"It'll be okay," He says, pulling me into him and kissing my lips. "I love you,"
"I love you too," I tell him, kissing him again.

At the end of the school day, Seb slides in beside me.
"Hey," he says, leaning against the lockers.
I smile. "Hey," I tell him.
"Let's go home,"
We walk out to my car and I drive us back to his house.

We barely make it inside Seb's room before he turns to me and pushes his lips against mine. He wraps an arm around my neck, and grabs both of my arms, one at a time, and wraps them around himself, and then he wraps his other arm around my neck. I lift him up into my arms and he wraps his legs around my waist. He moves his arms and cups my face as he kisses me gently. He licks my bottom lip and then kisses me again.
"I wanted to do that every time I saw you today," He says, leaning his head against mine when he pulls back.
I smile at him. "I love you, Seb," I say, kissing him softly and quickly.
I move back and sit on the bed with him on my lap so I don't have to put him down.
I look up into his eyes and smile.
"So, what are we going to do this weekend?" I ask him, smiling brightly.
