~Your POV~
"Kiyoko when are we going to get there my leg hurts" I complained. "Stop whining, we're here." She laughed. I thanked my Lord and Savior Asahi.
"WHAAA GIRLS-HOT"
"Easy on the eyes"
"Love me a girl manager"
"AND THERE'S TWO"
"DAMN YOU KARASUNO!"
Kiyoko and I walked inside and Kuroo's eyes met mine. "Y/N!!!" "TETSURŌ!!!" He ran towards me and picked me up. "IT'S BEEN SO LONG!" "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE A MANAGER!!" I laughed as he swung me around. "I'm not Boke!" He set me down and looked confused. "I'm out on injury so I asked Coach if I could come." "Well hey, I'm glad you're here! Have you seen Kenma yet?" I shook my head. "No! Where is my favorite dark-haired setter?!" Kuroo pointed to the bench and yelled for Kenma to join us.
He put down his GameBoy and seemed surprised to see me. "Y/N" He shyly smiled. "Kenma! I missed you! AND YOU DYED YOUR HAIR! IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!" He nodded and pointed at my leg, to which I waved my hand. "Nothing major." "Are you still playing football?" I nodded. "You bet, I'm even captain!" Kuroo ruffled my hair and I swatted his hand away.
"Not everyone wants to have bedhead like you!" He gasped. "You wound me!" His teammates walked up seconds later. "How do you know one of the babes from Karasuno?!" Kuroo threw an arm around my shoulder and leaned all his weight on me. "YOU MEAN Y/N? THE LOVE OF MY LIFE?! THE GIRL I'M GONNA WIFE UP!" Every one of the boys on the two teams gasped.
"Stop it with that! It was never funny." I playfully smacked his shoulder. "No, I've known Bedhead here since I was a kid."
"BAHHAHHA DID SHE JUST CALL YOU BEDHEAD?!" "I could call him chem nerd but he'd go into emo mode just like Bokuto," The more Kuroo laughed, the more he leaned on me. My bad knee was starting to buckle under the weight. Eventually, it did, causing Kuroo to stop leaning on me and I fell into Kenma. He caught me thankfully but the pain was now pretty strong.
I felt someone grab my wrist and turned to see Daichi. "We need her back now. Good luck." He said as he dragged me away. I was slightly limping and he noticed. 'Damn, nothing ever gets by him' "How long has it been hurting?" "Since yesterday, but it's not that bad." He stopped and stared at me. His eyes softened but were shadowed with concern. "Don't lie to me." His voice was soft. "How bad is it?" I reluctantly held up 6 fingers and he sighed.
He helped me to the bench and dug through his bag, pulling out a pill bottle. "Here." He poured 2 pills into his hand and put them in mine before giving me his water bottle. After I took them he still looked concerned. "If it continues to hurt you can grab another one from my bag. We'll get you some ice after the game." "Why do you keep extra pain meds in your bag?" "I didn't want you to be in pain." He said giving me a soft smile as he ran out onto the court.
"Girl, I don't see how you two aren't dating yet. It's obvious you both like each other." Kiyoko said appearing over my shoulder. "I don't want to get in the way of his dreams," I replied as I watched him from the bench.
The two teams lined up on the end line and thanked each other for the game before getting to their positions. I let Kiyoko keep score first. I sat next to Coach Ukai and watched the match begin. I felt bad for Kōshi since he wasn't in the starting line up. I also noticed Kenma seemed to be a little more quiet than usual. I had no doubt that he was studying each of the boys closely.
Being as shy of a kid as he is he's used to observing everyone from afar. I was impressed with how well he was playing though. I nudged Coach, "He's watching them." "I noticed that too." I hummed. "Yea but he's watching for their mistakes. And their number 7 is especially focused on Hinata."
We lost the first set. "TIME OUT TIME OUT!" Coach Ukai yelled as he jumped up from the bench after Hinata missed his hit.
'He's trying too hard to shake off the blockers.'
We had started the beginning of the second match when my knee started throbbing. The pain was intense. I leaned over and dug through Daichi's bag but I couldn't find the bottle he had earlier. I gave up and continued to push through the pain. After another couple of minutes, it was ultimately excruciating.
The boys were in the middle of a play, completely focused on the court. I used this advantage to get out without causing a distraction. I got up off the bench and started to walk as normally as I could towards the doors that led out of the gym. "Y/N?" Coach Ukai turned to me. "I'm good, I just need to go get some ice for my knee. I'll be right back."
Once I got out into the hall, I started to limp excessively. My leg was practically dragging behind me. The pain was unbearable. "Daichi" I called out as I fell to the ground. I was now clawing at the brace. "COME OFF" I cried as I tried to pry it off. But it was no use. The brace was locked and I was laying on the ground in an incredible about of pain.
~Third Person POV~
The boys played several matches before wearing themselves out. The coaches gave their teams a pep talk and once those we over they started to take the net down and put things away. Kenma walked up to Kuroo and tapped him in the back.
"Where's Y/N?" He asked softly. Kuroo scanned the gym but couldn't find her. "HEY KARASUNO" He yelled getting the attention of all the other boys. "Where's Y/N? We want to say goodbye." In all honesty, they had no idea. The team exchanged glances with each other several times.
"Wait, where is Y/N-Senpai?" Hinata asked. "She went to go get ice a little while ago." Daichi walked over to his bag to see it was a complete mess like someone had been rummaging through it. "How long ago was that?" The Coach thought for a moment, scratching his head as he tried to remember. "Dunno. Maybe during the second set." He shrugged.
Suga's eyes widened when he put the pieces together. "The second set of which game?" Daichi ran from the gym upon hearing his friend's question. He searched each one of the hallways, only stopping when he heard cries and screams coming for a little farther away.
He sprinted down the hall, turning sharply around the corner to be met with the h/c haired girl lying on the floor, gripping her knee. He dropped to her side and slid his arms under her. Picking the girl up, he sat her in his lap.
"What happened?!" He asked in a panic. "My leg started to hurt and I couldn't find the pain medicine so I went to get ice but it wouldn't stop hurting. I'm sorry!" She cried. "It's okay, hey, I promise it's okay." He held the girl close until her cries eventually softened. He gently picked her up and carried her outside to join the team. Everyone watched the two of them but didn't bother saying anything.
