35- We partied too hard

We continued playing drinking games, regular games, listening to music, dancing, and singing our hearts out for hours. 

The girls were starting to get exhausted so I walked out front and called our rides. After a few rings, the call connected.

"Y/n? It's 3:30 in the morning" 

"DON'T ACT LIKE YOU'RE NOT AWAKE I KNOW YOU GUYS HAD TEAM BONDING AND A SLEEPOVER" 

"Girl can you not yell"

"WHAT?!" I screeched into the phone. 

"MA'AM I KNOW I JUST TOLD YOU NOT TO YELL" 

"STOP YELLING AT ME"

"YOU STOP YELLING" I could hear someone talk on the other line. "How about you both stop yelling?" 

"TELL CAP TO SHOVE OFF AND COME PICK US UP"

"Why do we need to pick you up?" 

"WE ARE DRUNK YOSHI"

"Oh"

"BIG BRAIN MOMENT AND BRING 2 TOWELS"

"Why do you need towels?"

"2+4 is 10, 5+2 is 5- DO THE MATH"

"I-girl"

"WHAT"

"I'll hang up"

"I'll drive home" I teased, knowing I wouldn't actually. 

"STOP! We're on our way, should be about half an hour by bus."

"MKAY BYE" 

I hung up and walked back inside. "Y/NNNNN!!! ARE WE GOING HOME SOON?!" Himari asked as she clung to me like a child. I patted her head a few times as I answered. "YES" 

Hanako came up to me and already started to get a hangover. I could tell by the way she was rubbing her head. "I blame you for this Y/n" "Don't blame me, Cho wanted to come" "ITS OIKAWA'S PARTY! BLAME HIM!" "Fair enough" We all said. 

I dragged all of us outside and we sat on the steps while we waited on the two boys. Most of us were had asleep when they pulled up. 

I felt something hit me in the face and I opened my eyes. "THANK GOD" I wrapped the towel around myself and looked up at Daichi. "I was getting cold" 

"DO YOU GUYS WANNA KNOW A FUN FACT?!" Kagami shouted as Daichi was helping me up. "Y/N CAN'T SWIM" I gasped. "WHORE" "I CANT-" She couldn't finish her sentence since she was laughing hysterically. 

I started to pout and Daichi gave me a hug. "You're so warm!" I said as I clung to him. "You're wet, stop that" He tried to push me away but I held on even more. 

"Hey...wanna hear something Oikawa taught me?" Daichi stared at me, uncertain. "Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk past you again?" He sighed. 

"Don't worry I have another one. If you're my nothing, last forever. No wait that's not right" He started laughing this time, which made me laugh.

We finally got down to the cars and piled in. When I sat down, I rested my head against the window. Daichi put one of his hands on my thigh and rubbed circles on it. That's all I remember before falling asleep.

Someone's alarm woke me up later. I searched for the phone and threw it across the room. "STOP BEING SO LOUD I HAVE A HEADACHE" I felt someone kiss my forehead and I shoved them off the bed. 

"I HAVE A BOYFRIEND" I heard laughing and I opened my eyes. The sun practically blinded me and gave me an even bigger headache. I rolled off the bed and something cushioned my blow.

"Hey there" I was laying on top of Daichi and I'm guessing he's the one I shoved off the bed. I mumbled a few words and buried my face in his neck. "Long night?" "Shhh, too loud"

He gently moved me and got up. A few minutes later he came back and poked my sides to make sure I was alive. "Here's some water and a pain killer for the hangover" 

I groaned as I got up and took it from him. "You're a beautiful boyfriend" "I'm beautiful?" "I've said it before and I'll say it again" 

Sometime later I joined the girls and Kōshi who were downstairs. Some of them were still asleep while some were awake and chugging water. "Y/n...remind me to tell Oikawa I hate him" "Don't worry, I'll do it for you," I said as I flopped onto the couch.

"Please tell me we don't have practice today Y/n! Please!" "I don't have a death wish. Besides, the Semi-finals are tomorrow." Everyone groaned when I reminded them of that. 

I got on my phone and scrolled until a pillow hit me in the head. "I swear to god- the next person to hit me with a pillow-" "Y/n shut up and look at this!" Kagami threw me her phone which I didn't catch so it fell on the floor.

I picked it up and looked at what was on the screen. 

'L/N F/N 'S BEST MOMENTS AND LEGENDARY SAVES IN HER ONGOING SEASON'

I screamed as I pressed play on the video. "Watch this replay from her game against Tokonami High" It was a video of me kicking the ball up in the air, sliding across the grass, rolling as I kicked the ball into the goal.

"And the most recent save a perfect body block but watch that incredible speed" I couldn't believe I was actually the center of attention across all of Japan. 

"BYE," I threw the phone back at Kagami, not bothering to watch the rest of the video. "WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" Himari yelled but I was already up in my room, changing out of my pajamas and into practice clothes. 

Once I changed I ran back downstairs with my bag on my shoulder. "I know you do not have a hangover and are about to go practice" "So she lied about the death wish" "BYE" I flew out of the front door before anyone could stop me. 

'If I want to be the best and get the best offers I don't get to take days off' 

After about an hour of practicing the other girls showed up. "What are you guys doing here? I told you we didn't have practice" They all stared at me blankly, "If you're practicing, so are we." 

I didn't get the chance to stop them. They had already dropped their bags and walked to the middle of the field to stretch. 

We practiced yes, but we mostly conditioned and goofed around since we all were still a bit hungover. "You guys realize this might be our last game before spring nationals?" I threw a ball at Cho. "STOP SCARING EVERYONE" "Wait- is the captain scared~~" Himari teased. 

"Yes," I deadpanned, which shocked them. "Cho's right. This very well could be our last game before spring nationals. This means once that's over-us third years are leaving. And most likely heading different ways."

Everyone went quiet but I continued talking. "Kagami wants to play for Japan, Cho wants to play for Brazil, and I-I wanna play wherever I can" I didn't tell them that I wanted to play for the US. It'd kill them. 

"So yea, it's scary to think about"
