~Your POV~
"Maybe they don't need me...What do you think Mr. Fluffy Muffin?" I huffed as I laid on my couch. Then the doorbell rang. I ignored it. And then it rang again. "GO AWAY" I shouted from where I was sitting in the living room. A few minutes later everything was silent again, but I couldn't stay in this house anymore.
I slipped on a tee-shirt, a pair of leggings, and my shoes. I didn't really know where I was going, I was just kind of- walking. It was getting dark but I didn't mind. I only got irritated when it started to rain.
'Psh, how cliche'
I found myself standing on the sidewalk in front of Daichi's house. I've only been here once, so how I managed to remember where it was baffled me. I walked up to the door and took a deep breath. 'Time to find out if he needs me or not.'
I knocked on the door but no one answered. 'Maybe he didn't hear it?' I knocked again but was still met with a closed door. "Wait a minute, it's not even completely dark yet, which means he's still at practice. Nice going Y/N." I decided to sit down on the steps and wait.
~Third Person POV~
"What the HELL did you do?!" Himari yelled as she stormed into the boys' gym.
"Can we help you?" Coach Ukai asked the girl. "You tell me. One minute Y/N's on her way up here with a gift and the flyers for the game and the next she's storming back onto the field with tears in her eyes."
Everyone remained quiet. Himari was a sweet girl who never got angry. Unless someone she cared about got hurt as a result of another.
"Nobody? Okay, allow me to jog your memory." Himari grabbed one of the volleyballs from the cart and threw it at the first person she saw. Unfortunately for them, since she's a goalie she knows how to throw hard and fast.
The ball hit Nishinoya. But still, no one said anything. She picked up another and threw it. Then another. And another. "ALRIGHT," Daichi yelled. Coach Ukai stepped forward, "It was my fault." He sounded disappointed in himself. "I told her we didn't need her." Himari scoffed.
"Great." She turned her attention to Daichi and Suga. "Have either of you heard from her?" The two went and grabbed their phones, checking to see if they had gotten any new messages. The two turned back to Himari and shook their heads.
Himari started to leave the gym when she looked back and locked eyes with Coach Ukai.
"Good job. You just broke our captain." Upon hearing those words Coach decided to end practice. The boys packed up without saying a word.
~Daichi's POV~
Practice was going fine we heard yelling outside the gym. After Y/N and Coach's fight, practice was just uncomfortable. I texted Y/N but didn't get a response but that wasn't shocking considering what went down not that long ago.
I was approaching my house when I saw something on the steps. 'Wait, that's-'
I called out to her as I ran. "Y/N?" She was soaking wet from head to toe. "How long have you been out here?" I asked as I unlocked my front door. "Do you need me?" "Of course we need you." I walked inside but she didn't follow. I looked back and locked eyes with her. "No Daichi. Do YOU need me? Because if you don't, tell me now..."
I could see the tears starting to form in her eyes when I didn't answer right away. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside and out of the rain. "HEY" I cut her off by cupping her face and placing my lips on hers. I could hear her breath hitch. I pulled away and rested my forehead on hers. "Yes...I need you" I whispered.
~Your POV~
"Do you mean it?" I asked, still half unsure. "I'd never lie to you." I stepped back and smiled at him. "You know, Noya owes half the team 2000 yen now" We both laughed. "Come on" Daichi threw me over his shoulder and carried me upstairs. "Friendly reminder, if you drop me it's your funeral." He chuckled.
We got to his room and he set me down. "Don't sit on anything." He said as he opened his dresser. I got my ass back up off his bed. He walked back over and eyed me curiously. "You sat on something didn't you?" 'How does he know everything?' I laughed and he shook his head.
He held out a stack of clothes, "Um I'm pretty sure these are yours." "Obviously, but you're not walking home in this weather." "I can call Mrs. Sugawara to take me home." His face dropped a little. "I figured you could stay here tonight" I grabbed the clothes from his hand and smiled.
"Thank you" I whispered as I stood up on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek.
When I came back, he had a huge smile on his face. "What?" "You pull off my clothes better than I do," I laughed and jumped onto the bed where he was laying. I got on my phone and started scrolling on Instagram when I felt his arms wrap around my waist.
"Mmm, can I help you?" He scooted closer and buried his face in my neck causing me to giggle. "That tickles!!" "Be my girlfriend." I stopped laughing and rolled over to face him. "Is that a question or a statement?" He shrugged. "Okay," He kissed my forehead and held me until I fell asleep.
---
"Wow, day 1 and you're already trying to sneak away," Daichi said in his morning voice, which turns my legs into jello every time. I turned around and saw him rubbing his eyes. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you but I have to get to practice." He mumbled a few words that I didn't catch. "I'll see you at the gym later, okay?" He didn't respond so I'm assuming he fell back asleep. I walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge. He was sleeping so peacefully. His hair was flat, and he had a soft expression on his face. His chest moved up and down slowly. I bent down over him and kissed his cheek before leaving.
---
"MOVE YOUR ASSES" Coach yelled at us. "MY GRANDMA CAN RUN FASTER THAN YOU" "YOUR GRANDMA'S DEAD" Kagami snapped back causing all of us to busted up laughing. "And here I was, about to give you the bracket for the tournament." Kagami jumped up and practically tackled Coach as she tried to get the papers from her. "STOP THAT" Coach said as she whacked Kagami with the papers.
"GIVE IT TO US" I begged. Coach rolled her eyes and handed out the papers. We all shrieked as we looked it over. "Go on, get out of here. Just make sure you're all in tip-top shape for next Friday."
I threw my cleats and shin guards into my bag and took off towards the gym. No, I didn't put my other shoes on. I'd waste too much time. I busted into the gym and searched for my now boyfriend.
"Cap. Cap. Cap cap cap cap cap" My eyes landed on Daichi and I ran over to him, jumping on his back.
"Wha-" "LOOKKKKKK!! WE GOT OUR BRACKET FOR THE TOURNAMENT!!!" I jumped down and he snatched the paper from me. "Johzenji?" I nodded.
"Where are your shoes you gremlin?" "Bite me Tokyo tower" "I don't want rabies" "Excuse me" "Could you not hear me from all the way down there?" "I hate you" "No you don't" "I will scratch your eyes out" "You couldn't reach them if you tried" "You wanna see my vertical bitch?"
Daichi pulled me by the collar of my shirt and dragged me back to his side. I was still shooting daggers at Tsukishima.
Ms. girl you is not that powerful, I will steal your kneecaps.
