~Third Person POV~

The next 3 weeks flew by before Y/n seemed to notice.

Practices had been hardcore and exhausting. She'd been balancing school while receiving hundreds of college offers.

Nationals start next week, and she was a ticking time bomb.

"Y/n?" Her head snapped up. "What?" "Practice is over" "Oh" Everyone else had left, except Kagami.

"Are you okay? You've been really spaced out these past few weeks" Y/n's heart started to race. Here it comes. "I GOT AN OFFER TO TRAIN WITH TAMPA!" And...it was out.

Kagami froze when she noticed someone behind her captain. Y/n looked up at Kagami with a sorrowful expression.

"I don't know what to do-" The wingback was waving her hands, trying to get Y/n to stop. "I'd be gone for a year. And it's a really great offer...But I have to decide by the time Nationals is over"

"What did you just say?" Her heart dropped when she heard her boyfriend's voice behind her. She spun around in a panicked-like fashion.

"Daichi!" He had an unreadable expression on his face which made the girl panic more than she already was. "Please, let me explain!" "How long have you known?"

Tears started to flood Y/n's eyes when she looked into his. "How long have you known?" He said sternly. "4 weeks..."

He scoffed and started to walk away but Y/n ran after him. "Please! Please let me explain!" "There's nothing to explain!" He yelled as he turned around.

"You wouldn't be talking about it if you didn't plan on going!" She flinched at the volume of his voice. "You are thinking about going. Aren't you?!" "I don't know!" She cried back.

"So you were just going to keep it a secret until you left?" She reached for his arm but he pulled away. "I thought we were supposed to be a team Y/n." "Please! Please! Can we talk about this?!" He looked at her for a moment before walking away.

Y/n collapsed onto her knees, sobbing, in the middle of the field.

After a while, she managed to pull herself off the ground and she walked back home.

When she opened her room door she looked at all the memories of football and her anger took control.

She yelled as she ripped the posters from the wall, shoved all the trophies and medals from the shelves onto the ground, threw a football at her mirror, she was angry. Angry and confused.

She looked at her desk which had a copy of Japan's Sports Magazine on it. It was open to the page about her.

"Player of the Year? What a lie" She said as she ripped the article out and tore it directly down the middle.

It fell to the ground next to her football bag and she left. She got in her car and drove. No idea where she was going. She just couldn't be around anything familiar.

"You don't get it Suga. She wasn't going to tell anyone" Daichi said as he grabbed his books from his locker. "Or maybe she was scared. Y/n's still a regular person with feelings" The grey-haired setter replied.

"I'd be freaking out if I was her. That's a lot to think about. Moving somewhere foreign, leaving everyone you know, and for an entire year too. She probably panicked." Asahi added as the three walked to class.

"I know. And I'm not mad I'm just...I don't know" "Your feelings are just as valid. But maybe you should talk to her."

Asahi split from the group and when the two walked into class, she wasn't waiting at her desk like usual. "She's probably just running late," Kōshi said as he sat down.

Except class went on and she never showed up. In fact, she still wasn't there when lunch rolled around.

"Knowing Y/n, she's practicing. Nationals is just around the corner" Noya said as he ate his lunch.

But she wasn't. She had simply vanished.

When practice rolled around all the girls stretched as they waited on their captain to show up. "She's never been this late before," Nori said as she checked the time.

"Well, we can't keep waiting. Get out on the field" "Yes Coach"

The girls were a mess without their captain. Kagami tried her best, but she just wasn't Y/n. She held all the secrets, the plays, the key to winning, and she wasn't there.

"It's okay Hanako, you just slid a little too early" "THIS IS BULLSHIT!" She yelled. "I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT Y/N!" "Yes you can-" "THEN YOU TRY IT!"

Kagami and the rest of the girls were shocked by Hanako's outburst. "Has anyone heard from her?" Himari asked. Everyone shook their heads.

"Ok, I think we're all feeling a little too much pressure so let's call it" Coach Nishimura frowned.

The girls were walking past the gym when the boys came out. "Are you guys okay? You look defeated" Noya asked as he walked over to Himari.

"Just fine" Kagami lied. "What she said" The rest of the girls nodded sadly.

"Y/N! YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN MY-" Hinata stopped yelling as he scanned the group for the h/c haired captain.

"Hey, where's Y/n?" The girls sighed and continued walking. "Don't know. She skipped practice." Kagami said slightly aggressively before she left.

"I'll drop by her house" Kōshi replied. "I'll go with you"

When Daichi and Suga got to the L/n residence the setter grabbed his key to the house from his bag and unlocked the front door.

"Y/n?" No response. The two walked upstairs and Daichi knocked on her bedroom door. "Y/n? Please." Still, no response.

When he opened the door the two boys stared wide-eyed with their mouths hanging slightly open. Everything was destroyed. All except a tidy corner where Y/n kept pictures of her, Daichi, Kōshi, and some of the girls.

Kōshi pulled out his phone to call Y/n, but he quickly found out she didn't have it when he heard the Yoshi Story theme song coming from her bag.

"Well this isn't good," Kōshi said as he looked at her phone. "Suga" Daichi picked up the two pieces of the article Y/n had ripped in half. "Y/N!" Suga yelled as he ran out of the room.

He searched the entire house for her. Every room. Every bathroom. The kitchen. The basement. Even the backyard. But she wasn't there.
