(Chloe's POV)
"Can I plllllleeeeeaaaasssseeee come? Please?! I'm better now! My head doesn't even hurt anymore! Pllllleeeeaaasssseee!" I begged Steve as he walked around getting stuff ready for the mission.
"I thought you didn't like me dragging you on all these missions." He raised his eyebrow at me.
"Yeah...well, that was before my head injury. And I've sat here for like two months being bored out of my mind while everyone else goes without me." I struggled to come up with an answer and I knew he could tell.
"Really?"
"Really. And I feel fine now. So can I please come?" I begged, giving him puppy dog eyes.
Steve glanced at me and then sighed heavily. "Fine. You can come-"
"Really?!" I interrupted and he put a finger up.
"You can come...but you have to come up with an excuse if your mom asks. And knowing her, she will." He muttered the last part as if she was listening.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!" I shrieked.
"Alright! Just quiet down." He laughed. "Go pack."
I ran off to my room and started throwing stuff into a duffle bag. We were doing civvy clothes I think. I packed a crop-top hoodie, with ripped jeans and some combat boots. I threw in an extra pair of clothes, cause knowing my luck, I'll need them.
Throwing some other random things onto the bag I threw it over my shoulder and headed out my door.

"Hold up." Mom grabbed the back of my shirt making me stop. "Where is it that you think you're going, missy?"
"On...the mission?" I suggested.
"Yeah, that's going to be a no." She said and I let out a noise.
"But I'm fine! See?" I said knocking on my head. "All better."
"I don't care. I don't want you to come. You weren't there for the debrief, you don't know what we're doing." Mom started and I scowled at her.
"Well I'm coming whether you like it or not," I told her as she started to walk away.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at me. "Excuse me?"
"I asked Steve. He said I could. He also told me about the mission. I know what we're supposed to do." I stood my ground. I knew that I was doing something that would most likely turn out bad for me in the end. I could tell she wasn't certain what to do.
Mainly considering that I had never outright gone against her like this.
"Steve trusts me," I mumbled.
"Well, Steve, isn't your parent. I am. And what I say goes." She crossed her arms.
"I'm fourteen! I'm not a baby! I'm an Avenger! I have a right to make my own decisions!" I exclaimed.
"What's going on?" I turned to see Steve approaching us.
"Did you tell her she could come?" Mom turned on him.
"Yes. I did. And maybe that was overstepping my boundaries, and I am sorry if I did, but we really could use her, Nat." Steve apologized.
I watched mom bite the inside of her cheek in thought. "I trust her Natasha," Steve spoke quietly, putting his hand on her shoulder. Mom looked up at him and nodded.
Interesting...
"Okay. Fine. Whatever." She gave in and I smiled.
"I'll be on the jet," I told them.
