January 26 2015.
(Chloe's POV)

My eyes fluttered open, and I became aware of where I was.

As I sit up in bed I was suddenly aware of the pounding in my head.

"Ow." I said as I climbed out of bed and walked over to the window.

"That is high." I said to myself as I looked out the window and saw that I was at least twenty stories up off the ground. Maybe more.

I had never been this high up before so I never knew if I was afraid of heights or not. Turns out I was afraid of heights.

I walked back to the bed feeling suddenly dizzy. I looked around the room for a door, when I saw it in the corner, I decided that I would see where I was.

I opened the door but didn't see anyone. This was my chance if I wanted to leave.

I walked out of the room and quietly shut the door. I walked down the hallway barefoot so the cold floor sent a shiver up my spine. I walked past a few doors not looking in them incase there was someone in one of them. I kept walking until I found a elevator.

I pushed a button and waited for it to come up. I heard a ding! and walked in. The doors closed, and I pushed the only button that didn't have a picture on it.

I looked at the buttons confused. They had these weird pictures. Then I recognized the pictures.

No!

I suddenly realized that I was in the last place I wanted to be.

Avengers tower.

I tried to stop the elevator, but I'm not the most knowledgeable in elevators. So instead I went down, down, down, until it got to the level I pushed.

Ding!

The door opened, and standing in front of me was none other then Iron Man.

"Hey. Can I come in?" He said with a smile.

I looked at him with wide eyes.

"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you." He said as soothingly as he could.

I backed up against the elevator wall as he walked in.

The elevator went down another level.

I cocked my head, and gave him a weird look.

"Do- do you not speak English?"

Ding!

The door opened again. This time Black Widow walked in. I clung the wall as if maybe if I clung hard enough I could melt into the wall.

Unfortunately that was not one of my abilities. I could control shadows, but the elevator was brightly lit so that wouldn't work. Could I phase? Probably not the best choice. I might hurt myself even more.

Black Widow smiled at me.

"Are you alright?" She asked me concerned.

"I don't think she speaks English Natasha." Iron Man said.

"Parlez vous anglais?" (Do you speak English?) She asked me in French.

I didn't answer her.

"Comment tu t'appelle?" (What is your name?) She asked.

"Chloe." I said slowly in English.

"C'est un plaisir de vous rencontrer, Chloe. (It is nice to meet you Chloe.) She said in French.

I nodded.

"Do you speak English?" She asked me in English.

"Oui. I do." I started in French and then switched to English. "You speak very good French." I complimented her.

"Thank you. I'm Natasha. This Tony." She said pointing to herself and then at the Iron Man.

I nodded my head in recognition. The elevator dinged again and the door opened. Tony walked out and headed towards a door, Natasha also walked out and looked at me.

"Would you like to come?" She asked me. "I have to go to a meeting, but you're more then welcome to come."

I thought about it for a minute and then nodded my head.

She smiled and then walked towards the door Tony had went into. I followed her before the elevator door closed.

She held the door open for me and I walked in the room. Around a table sat Iron Man. Or Tony, as Natasha called him, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and the Hulk. Except the Hulk wasn't big and green, he looked like a normal person. We walked in on them when they were talking. When they saw me they all stopped.

"Guys this is Chloe." Natasha said putting a hand on my shoulder.

I gave a weak smile.

"Chloe, this is Clint, you met Tony in the elevator, Steve, you cut him with the knife, Thor, and Bruce." She said pointing to each person as she said their name. I grimaced at remembering the incident with the knife.

Natasha walked me over to the table and sat me down in between her and Hawkeye. I shifted in my seat remembering how he had electrocuted me with one of his arrows.

"I'm sorry I had to shoot you." He said.

I looked at him, I could see real guilt in his eyes.

"It's ok." I told him.

Partially because it's the truth. But mostly because he looked really sorry.

They started talking about something but I wasn't really paying attention.

"-we don't know where to find them though. The facility in France was our last lead on Hydra. If we-" Tony stopped mid sentence after seeing me watching him. "Sorry." He said.

I shrugged.

"Chloe? Can you tell us anything about Hydra?" Natasha asked me.

"They didn't talk much around me. At least nothing important." I said.

"You're sure?" Steve asked me.

"Well... there was this one time, they thought I was sleeping, I just didn't open my eyes because as soon as I did they would stop talking. But I overheard some of the scientists talking about, Stryker."

"Strucker?" Bruce said.

"Yeah. They said something about the body count he had."

"He's killing people?" Steve asked.

I shrugged again.

"They said body count. Take it as you will." I said annoyed.

"Chloe, do you remember them saying where he was at?" Natasha asked kindly.

"No. They didn't even know where he was." After that the kinda ignored me, and I was totally fine with that.

After the meeting, Natasha took me to get something to eat.

"What do you want? We have fruit, eggs, juice, cereal. Anything you want." Natasha said. "Hey, you alright?"

"What kind of cereal?" Natasha smiled.

"Apple Jacks, Cap'n Crunch, Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch,-"

"Pick the Cinnamon Toast Crunch." Clint said interrupting Natasha as he sat down next to me.

"Just because it tastes good, doesn't mean that it's good for you, Clint." Natasha said as she folded her arms across her chest.

"Yes, thank you Nat. But she's had her whole life controlled by Hydra; I think she should get a little freedom. Don't you?"

"Do you have oranges? Growing up I only ever had an orange once." Natasha and Clint both smiled at me.

"Let me guess. You've never had a burger before  have you?"

"Un quoi?" (A what?)

So this was a fun chapter to write. I especially loved getting to use French. I translated all the French words for you guys. Also sorry this ones kinda long.
