The next morning I woke up to Damon gone. I got ready and went downstairs after eating breakfast and saw Stefan and Damon talking about where they'd be going now that they were leaving town.

I made my presence known and they both looked to me, "You both are really leaving me..." They looked at each other and Day walked up to me so we were chest to chest but I refused to look at him so I stared at a button on his shirt, "Come with me." I was shocked and snapped my head to look at his face to see if I could find the lie in his eyes but I couldn't find it. Before I could reply Stefan came closer, "Damon, I don't think that's a good idea. The point of leaving is to protect her." Damon rolled his eyes, "What safer place is there than with me?" Stefan gave him a 'really' look so I laughed, "Yeah Stef, what safer place is there than with Damon." Damon shoved me playfully and we all laughed and Stef shook his head with a smile. I looked at Day and said, "I'd love to come with you Day." He smiled and picked me up over his shoulder and starting spinning around so I started to laugh loudly, "Damon! Put me down! You and your brother are both the same. You both are brutes!! Damooon! Put me dowwwn!" He laughed and finally put me down, but only because someone had rung the doorbell. It was Sheriff Forbes. Apparently, there was another vampire in town so Stefan and Damon decided to stay in town until they could figure out what was going on. I asked Stefan if he was gonna go to school but he said no, that he'd come later, so I got on my bike and made my way to school.
I met up with BonBon and Lena and asked how she was doing after what happened with Damon. She couldn't comprehend how I could be friends with Damon despite being a "homicidal vampire." I laughed and told her it's not something that's easily understood so she shouldn't try but I told her the way I felt for Damon is the way I feel about everyone I've met in Mystic Falls so far. It's confusing, I know, but despite all the death and people I've lost, instead of it making it more difficult for me to let people in I do the opposite and let them in. She hated him though, understandably, but she said she was thankful for Stefan for saving her. We noticed Care and Matt talking in the hallway. I thought it was so cute and I told Lena and BonBon that they'd make a really cute couple.
Once school was over, it was career day so I was walking around with Care and she was telling me how she wanted to get into broadcast journalism. I jokingly told her that I'd become famous someday, and I would only have interviews with her, it was a good laugh and she gave me a big hug telling me she looked forward to it. Her mom showed up and they went their own way. I was looking in the art section of the fair, looking at all the drawings people drew when I spotted Tyler looking at a portfolio so I came up behind him and looked over his shoulder and saw what he was looking at. I gasped after noticing the signature on the page and grabbed his shoulders, "Tyler, those are amazing! You are so talented!" He scoffed and looked at me over his shoulder, "Yeah right, stop lying," I gasped dramatically and pinched his side, "Tyler Lockwood, do I look like a liar to you?" He rolled his eyes and smiled at me and mumbled a no while continuing to look at the drawing. I smiled and hugged him from behind, "Exactly, so when I tell you your art is amazing then a simple thank you should suffice." He laughed again and rolled his eyes, "Thank you," I smiled and gave him a peck on his cheek, "You're welcome." I looked over and saw Jer so I waved hello and walked away so I could look around some more. I walked around some more when I saw Jeremy push Tyler against the lockers in the hallway so I quickly ran and got in between them, "Hey, Hey Jer, stop it that's enough! Tyler, don't." They kept trying to get at each other even though I was in the middle so Lark and Tyler's dad, Mayor Lockwood, pulled them apart. The Mayor had taken them both somewhere so it was just me and Lark standing in the hallway out of breath, "Lark, where is he taking them?" He looked at me and shook his head, "I don't know," I let out a deep breath and started walking after them when Lark grabbed my hand, "Whoa, whoa where are you going?" I looked at him, "I don't know Lark, I just have a weird feeling. I'm gonna go see if they're okay." He nodded and said he'd go with me so we walked out and saw them talking in the parking lot when Tyler moved to leave his dad had grabbed him and threw him back yelling out for him to fight so I got angry and ran to stand between Jer and Tyler and grabbed onto their hands, "Hey, what is your problem!" The Mayor looked at me and scoffed but before he could say anything Lark interrupted, "What's going on out here?" The Mayor looked to Lark and tried to get him to go back inside but Lark refused, "I don't want to go back inside. What I wanna know is an answer to my question. What's going on out here?" The Mayor scoffed, "Who do you think you're talking to? Do I look like a student?" It was my turn to answer, "No, you look like a full-grown alpha male douche bag," from the corner of my eye I saw Tyler looking at me impressed and Jer laughing under his breath. The Mayor whipped his head around to face me, "You don't talk to me like that, I could have you kicked out of this town like that, " and he snapped his fingers, I glared but Lark defended me, "Oh you do that, then it's gonna be you and me in this parking lot. You cool with that?" The Mayor looked one last time at Lark and uttered, "You just marked yourself," and looked to Tyler so they could leave, but before they did I squeezed Tyler's hand and made sure to give him a look that would tell him that I was here for him. He just nodded at me and left with his dad. Once they were gone I rolled my eyes and mimicked the Mayor in a funny voice, "You just marked yourself." Lark laughed and I shoved Jer when he laughed, "You don't get to laugh. You get into way too many fights. Don't make everyone worried, you brat." He rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we made our way back inside and went our separate way.
