Chapter 44

Marcel's POV

As soon as I came to I flipped onto my stomach and came face to face with the lifeless eyes of Nova. I saw her throat was slit with the knife in her hand so I slowly crawled to her and touched her face but she was cold. I started to tremble not understanding, "Nova?" Before I could understand fully what happened I heard Vincent's voice, "Who broke the circle?" They still couldn't see Nova from behind my frame so without answering I slowly turned to them with tears in my eyes and that's when they saw her. Kol sped quickly to her side as tears pooled in his eyes and lifted her in his arms, "Val? VAL! Please, Val, come on. You gotta...You gotta get up. Please get up...I can barely do this without Davina. Please..." He looked at me in anger, "What happened!?" I shook my head, "I don't...I don't know. When I woke up she was already like this. Elijah jumped me. Freya took Davina down somehow. " Kol shook his head, "My brother, why would he do that?" I shook my head still angry and confused at what happened, "Forget about that! We need to resurrect Davina, and Nova, now!" Vincent nodded, "Van is gonna use every bit of his Regency power to bring them back." I nodded, "Good, I'll get Davina's body." He looked at me and nodded before pushing away some of Nova's hair that stuck to her face, still crying, as I made my way to get Davina's body.

When I came back I laid Davina beside Nova so Van began to chant but only for a while before the fire he chanted over snuffed out. I looked at him already crying, "What happened?" He looked at me while shaking his head, "Nothing. It's like she wasn't even there. Your friend too. The Ancestors must've got to them first. I--" Kol angrily yelled, "Where the bloody hell are they!?" Van just shook his head so Vincent spoke up, "That's it, man. They're gone." I didn't want to believe it so I  kneeled by their heads and cried over their bodies. Kol became angry again and threw Van against the wall, "DO IT AGAIN!" Van just shook his head, "I can't. If I had a chance at it, it's gone now." Kol growled, "Then you just became disposable." Vincent stopped him saying killing him is not what either of them would have wanted so Kol threw Van to the ground who ran away. I became angry once again and stood up, walking to Kol with a pointed finger, "I should've known better than to trust your family. You people destroy everything you touch." Without a word, he looked down at Davina and Nova before walking off as did I, no longer able to look at their lifeless bodies. I knew they succeeded in killing Lucien but I didn't care. I opened a bottle of whiskey and started to drink it waiting for them to arrive.

When I finally was home Vincent had followed me and decided to give me the serum both Lucien and Aurora took. I was hesitant but he reminded me that New Orleans was ours and we can't keep having it and the people living in it destroyed because of the Mikaelson family. So, I took it, only to have Elijah kill me and throw me in a river not knowing the havoc I will wreak on their family for all that they've done. 

Nova's POV   

When I had faded away from Vina the next time I opened my eyes I wasn't back in the world of the living. I wasn't in the Ancestral plane either but it was in a domain that I knew wasn't where I was meant to be. I walked around and called out, "Hello? Is anyone there?" I furrowed my brow when I heard a voice behind me that made me stiffen, "Butterfly?" I turned quickly in my place and came face to face with, "Stef?" Even wilder is the blonde standing next to him, "Lex!?" I ran to them both and jumped in their arms with tears falling already. When they finally put me down Lex had kissed my forehead and with one last hug looked at Stef, "You should talk to her, I'll wait outside." I became scared after hearing her words and turned to Stefan with a look of concern so he walked closer and grabbed my face, "There's a lot you've missed. That's our fault for keeping it from you though. We didn't want to worry you and we knew you were dealing with some things in New Orleans." I shook my head, "I don't understand Stef. What's going on?" We sat down together and he explained to me the events they've kept hidden from me. First, he told me about finally defeating Rayna Cruz the huntress, which made me happy. He told me how Bon almost died because of some sort of poison but luckily they were able to find a solution by transferring Rayna's life to hers and although there were some hiccups they pulled through and Bon was able to get through it scott-free. However, that secret organization Enzo was a part of, the Armory, had forced Bon to open some sort of network of caves the building was built over. What they didn't know was what was in those caves. Bon had made a promise though, to keep whatever was in there locked away so although she was forced to open the passage she spelled the entire building to be locked so nothing could ever get out, not even the people who were still inside. Despite this, the hiccup that was mentioned before with Bon had required them to open the Armory again so they used the twins to siphon the magic so they could open the doors which let out whatever was hiding in those caves which they discovered later was a cannibalistic Siren that was trapped there for thousands of years named Sybil.
