Nova's POV

The next morning I had tried calling Boss Lady, but she wasn't picking up her phone so I left her a message, but I was a bit worried so I decided to go to her house tomorrow morning to see if she was okay. I didn't feel like going to school today but I knew I had to so I sucked it up and got ready. I decided to use Zach's car to get to school which is now under my name since I found a paper that Zach was writing that said he gave it to me and put it under Nova Knight. I used it more often than my bike and I loved it. I was grateful to him and I missed him so much, but before I could dwell on it longer I made my way to school.

The day went by slowly. I found out that Care, Matty, Lena, and Stef were gonna go on a double date together. I told Care I didn't think it was a good idea, but she reassured me that it was for the greater good. During lunchtime, I had called BonBon to see how she was doing. She said she was practicing her magic and she was getting better at it. I told her that Grams would be so proud and she thanked me for telling her that. Before the day had ended I decided to stop by Lark's classroom and I saw him sitting at his desk with paperwork in front of him so I walked up and leaned against his desk so I was facing him while he leaned back in his chair and smiled at me, "How've you been holding up Lark?" He sighed, "I'm okay, you don't need to worry about me." I just smiled, "Sorry, no can do Lark. I care about you now which means worry is an automatic attachment," he laughed, "So what are you up to today?" I thought about it for a bit, "I think I'm gonna head to the hospital, visit my sister, if she'll even see me," he furrowed his brow, "What is up with that? You guys have a fight?" I scoffed, "More like my very existence is the problem," he tilted his head in question so I answered, "I was adopted when I was six. Grace is nine years older than me so the idea of some random girl coming into the family one day wasn't exactly welcomed by her." He gave me a look of pity so I just smiled, "Don't worry about it, Lark. I'm resilient, so I'll just keep bugging her until she lets me in." He laughed at that and I finally bid him farewell with a kiss on his head as a goodbye.

Once I had left the school Day had called me and told me about his encounter in the morning. Anna and her mother Pearl visited the boarding house demanding information from him about the council and who he gave vervain to. He said that Pearl was Katherine's best friend long before they arrived in Mystic Falls in 1864 so she'd know Katherine's pattern of traveling. He also told me how she gouged his eyes out making me gag over the phone. I told him that I was going to visit my sister, but he got mad at me because he knows how she treats me, but I just told him that it wasn't any different than how he was obsessed with Katherine who was never in the tomb in the first place and knew where he was all this time. After that, he said nothing else so with a "Love you bye" I hung up, picked up some dinner for Grace, and went to the hospital. Once there I made my way inside toward the security desk, "Hi there, I'm Nova Knight, my sister Grace works here, do you think you can tell her that I'm here please?" The guard said to give him one moment so I went and sat in the empty waiting room and after a while she showed up. "What are you doing here Novallia?" I looked up at her, she got a new haircut, it was shorter and she seemed to have lost weight so I stood up and walked to her, "You look so thin, have you been eating properly?" She just looked at me emotionless so I just sighed, "I brought you some dinner, I was hoping we could eat together." She looked at the bag in my hand and then finally looked at me and sighed, "I hate you. I've always hated you since the moment mom and dad found you. I blame you, you know. Our family's death, it was your fault. It was your birthday and they were all there because of you. If you never existed then they would still be alive and I'd still have a mom, a dad, and a family." I had tears streaming down my face and I just looked down as she continued, "I'm leaving, so there's no point in telling you not to come here anymore because I'll be gone and far away from you. Don't look for me, don't contact me, delete my number...On second thought don't bother because I'm gonna buy a new one anyway. I hope you have a shit life and I hope you suffer and die alone..." I continued to cry as she turned her back and walked away from me. I stood in that spot for who knows how long when I finally made the walk back to my car. As soon as I sat I started to sob loudly and put my head against my steering wheel. I sat there crying for so long when I finally looked up and noticed it was already nighttime so I made my way back home.
