After Davina died the days leading afterward were torture so I wanted a break from New Orleans. Instead, I decided I would make do on my promise to see what I could find out about Day's virus. I traveled to New York to find the witch I knew. I met her while she was here in New Orleans on vacation and we hit it off immediately. She told me if I ever needed help I could always come to find her so I was making due on that promise. When I asked her for help she wasn't able to give me any definitive answer but I told her it was fine. After spending some more time with my friend I bought a ticket to go to Mystic Falls to visit the gang back home so I could let them know I couldn't find anything. I told everyone important back in New Orleans I'd be in Mystic Falls for a while, especially Bekah who told me that it was fine but not to stay too long. I had got on the plane the next morning and flew out there and rented a car and made my way to the boarding house. When I arrived I bumped into Care who was on her way out so when she saw me she screamed, "NOVA!" I smiled wide, happy to see her, "SUNSHINE!" She sped to me and gave me a tight hug almost crushing me to death but I didn't mind, it was nice to see her. Jer and Matty were at the house and filled me in on everything that's happened so far since I left and boy was I really out of the loop. To say I was shocked was an understatement.
Apparently, KitKat didn't die, instead, she took over Lena's body since she descended from Traveler's. She posed as Lena for three weeks and finally when everyone figured it out they made a plan to lure her back to the boarding house. They succeeded only because Nadia, KitKat's daughter, was bitten by Ty and Stef brought her back home telling KitKat she could run or come to see her daughter take her last breath. They stabbed KitKat with the special knife to kill a Passenger so KitKat passed on but not to The Other Side, somewhere else. I was sad for both of them, nonetheless, I was glad Lena was back. However, Care told me because Kitkat asked Wes Maxfield for help she had access to his experiments and poisoned herself with the same virus as Day's just to spite Lena. So, they trapped her in the dorms at Whitmore College because the campus would be mostly empty since it was Spring Break. They were using the help of a new witch named Liv who they go to college with. BonBon is helping teach her magic since she became the Anchor to The Other Side and can no longer practice magic, another thing I just found out about. After letting everything sink in I called everyone in Mystic Falls I could think of that wasn't currently at the Boarding House so; Stef, Lena, BonBon, and Ty. They were all glad I was back to visit despite the circumstances and I promised I'd stay until we solved the problem with Lena and Day.
I decided to go to the basement so I could talk with Damon. He was happy to see me too and caught me up on everything on his end. He told me he killed Wes in his "secret dungeon" he was hiding in and I told him about not getting answers from my witch friend. I told him that I'd go with Caroline to Wes's warehouse lab to see if we could find a cure for both him and Lena. I kissed him on the forehead and made my way back upstairs so I could go with Care, fingers crossed we could find something. When we arrived we immediately started looking for any clues that would help us cure our friends when I spotted a voice recorder and played it. Wes's voice filtered through, "I've managed to extract the werewolf venom from Nadia Petrova's blood. The addition of the venom will make the Ripper Virus even more lethal to vampires." Once the video recording ended and I realized what he said I gasped and grabbed ahold of Care's hand, "Oh my god. We need to tell Stef, Care. If we don't find this cure on time Lena could die." Before she could answer me we heard a voice behind us making us jump and look to see who it was, "So werewolves are real. I was told that was just like, you know, a joke." I recognized it was Enzo so I smiled at him happy to see him as he winked at me. I went to walk to him but Care stopped me so I was basically standing between them. Z chuckled at her protectiveness and introduced himself, "I'm Enzo." Care relaxed a bit recognizing the name and let my hand go, "The Enzo?" Z tried to be funny, "No, the other one," the perfect opportunity to tease him, my immediate response with a smirk was, "I knew it. The other one was uglier." I saw him suppress a laugh and faked a glare at me before running to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and mock bit my neck making me laugh, "Well hello to you too, Gorgeous." Eventually, he released his hold on me so I made my way back to Care's side.
