When I finally woke up I was lying next to Hope who was sitting up, caressing my hair. I smiled at her, "How are you feeling, My Heart?" She kissed my temple, "I'm okay, Moo..." I chuckled at the shortened nickname she uses for me as she went on to tell me everything that happened to her while I was unconscious. When we arrived Vin had supposedly helped her but as soon as Hope stood up to walk to her dad a circle of crows had fallen dead around her, forming a ring. I knew that was no coincidence and once the incident was over Hope had heard whispering, 'Kray Nah Han,' which admittedly was the same chant I heard in my dreams. I recognized the dialect, it was old Creole that hasn't been used in a long time, it meant, 'The Hollow is coming'. I knew that couldn't be a good sign but before I could dwell on it I watched Hail speed into the room and jump on top of me, "Oh thank god you're okay Sunflower. When you didn't wake up everyone become worried. We figured it had to do with your connection with Hope." Eventually, Hope fell asleep by my side while Hail continued to tell me about what happened. Everyone agreed to help with this new threat, with Lijah spearheading the help while Nikky stayed with Hope and me. Before we arrived Vin and Mar had rescued some kids other than Hope who were going to be used as the life force for this 'Hollow,' but discovered they were still missing and never made it home. With the help of Mar, Nikky, Vin, and Hail they found the kids again and found out that it was Kinny, the police officer Cam had introduced to me once, who took them. However, successfully they were able to kill the men who had them captured but Mar and Nikky became trapped in some sort of trance. To help them Vin had to break the connection the kids had with the Hollow and quickly come up with a plan and executed it, Nikky and Mar were no longer trapped as well as the kids were set free.
Once Hail finished telling me everything, I got out of bed and decided to take a much-needed shower, and changed into a full-length nightgown. I wanted to get some fresh air so I walked downstairs and onto the empty street barefoot. I know stupid but I needed some air and didn't care. I lifted my head to the sky and closed my eyes and had the sudden urge to hum to myself while the wind played with my hair and the fabric of my dress. After a while, I felt a chill roll down my spine and felt a presence behind me and knew it was Nikky so I didn't turn around and spoke to him, "Couldn't sleep?" I felt him walk right up to my back and placed a kiss on the back of my head while wrapping his arms around my waist, "No, I couldn't. Something's not right ever since Marcel and I were stuck in that trance with The Hollow. Hayley, Elijah, and Hope are going to the bayou to stay with Mary where it's safe. Freya will help me find out what's wrong." I nodded, "I'll stay and help her. Two heads are better than one." I felt him nod against my head and he held me tighter to his chest so I knew there was something else that was wrong, "There's something else isn't there? What is it?" He let out a deep sigh and barely over a whisper, "I keep seeing my father. He appears in flashes and it's putting my mind in a disarray." I turned and hugged him properly, "Rey and I will find out what's going on. I'm always with you in the back of your mind. Don't let him control you even in your dreams." He squeezed me tighter and we eventually went back inside where I decided to stay with Nikky for the night after he told me he kept seeing Mikael.
