A. N. This is it ya'll, it's the last episode of The Originals. I'm surprised I ended up coming back to this story. I always said I may or may not finish. Every once in a while I get peaks of interest in writing the rest of the story and these are one of those peaks, as it took me a couple of months to return to it. For that very reason, I binged The Legacies series just in case and might continue into that story, who knows. Thanks to everyone who has read this so far, I appreciate it and am very grateful for something you all took an interest in that was just fun for me to write for myself mostly. Just a reminder, ALL RIGHTS ARE RESERVED TO RIGHTFUL OWNERS OF THE SERIES I JUST OWN MY CHARACTER AND DEVIATIONS FROM THE ORIGINAL STORYLINE. Well, here we go, hope you like it!

P.S.: If anyone wanted to know, I listened to "Je te laisserai des mots by noel.smt (piano cover)" the entire time I wrote this chapter in case anyone wanted background music while reading.

Troublemaker, Bekah, Lijah, and I were currently in the dungeon chaining up Nikky when Troublemaker finally spoke up, "Just when I thought he was showing the vaguest signs of maturity. Our brother makes a unilateral decision that leaves us stewing in his melodrama." Bekah got angry with him, "His death is not a melodrama." Lijah pointed out the situation we were currently in, "Well he's spiraling. This energy feeds on anger and our brother, as we know, has enough to set the world on fire." Troublemaker got angry, "How many times are we going to play this game? Right, calamity and doom approaches our brother, and all of a sudden a trapdoor appears and poof, he escapes. He's a cockroach that will outlive us all. And we're immortal." I noticed Bekah getting angrier by the minute so I grabbed Troublemaker's arm and spoke for the first time since last night, "And what if it's different this time? What if he figures out a way to end it all?" Troublemaker just looked at me annoyed, "I don't think he would notice or care that I wasn't there to witness it." I felt the tears pool and trickle down my face slowly and saw just a hint of hesitance before Troublemaker spoke one last time and left, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going home." I looked at Bekah distraught so she came and hugged me to her chest while Lijah spoke with confidence, "He'll be back," but Bekah was quick to reply, "Will he?" Bekah kissed my forehead and lingered for a moment before storming out after Troublemaker, no doubt determined to bring him back.

Eventually, I went back upstairs and found Rey talking to Hope. I listened to Rey explain to Hope there was nothing we could do for Nikky. He had hours before the dark magic would consume him. Hope noticed me standing in the doorway and ran into my arms so I held her close and kissed her head. Rey left soon after to ask Vin about a book. She thought it might have a spell to help Nikky stay sane for his last few hours. This way he could spend it with his family one last time. I also knew that Rey wanted to ask Vin if he could be the donor for her and Lin's baby. After a long talk after the wedding. They decided they wanted to start a family in New Orleans. They wanted to have a better future for their child, to be different, and finally break away from the Mikaelson curse of troubled children. With My Heart still in my arms, I felt a shiver run down my spine, "Something's wrong..." Hope looked at me confused and let go so I ran down to the dungeon with her hot in my heels only to find it empty. I let everyone know that Nikky escaped somehow so Lijah was with Rey at the tower trying to locate him with a spell while Mar showed up in the dungeon, "So it's true." I turned to him, "We have to find him, Mar," but he just shook his head, "It's Mardi Gras out there. The streets'll be packed to the rafters." Hope finally turned to him, "Well he'll be the one foaming at the mouth and ranting." Mar was quick to argue, "Yeah, exactly. Which is why I don't think it's such a good idea for you to be out there," but Hope was quick to reply and walked out with me following close behind, "It's better than being fatherless."
