Nova's POV
The days leading after Tristan's imprisonment were fairly quiet. I spent most of my days with Hail and Hope just making sure Hail was alright although I wouldn't say so. Vincent was now Regent which reminded me of Vina and how she was doing. I talked to her over the phone frequently but she was apparently dodging Josh's calls which were making him feel kind of sad. He was determined to see her though so enlisting my help Josh and I went to go and find her. Using my magic it was easy to locate her, she was in the markets run by the covens. We had found her at a stall and the woman running it wouldn't even look at her which had frustrated Vina so she just walked away. Josh and I walked up to the stall where I spoke up with a fake smile, "Hi, you remember me, don't you? I'm sure you do because I was the one who knocked you on your ass with the wave of my finger. So, unless you want me to do it with my fist I suggest--" Before I could finish my threat Vina had walked back hearing us, and pulled Josh and me away from the stall telling us to, "Let it go." We had walked away and she was midway through telling Josh she was sorry about not returning his calls and saying, "Things have been really--" so Josh cut her off and stood in front of her, "Really, yeah, awful. No kidding. The thing is, this is kind of the whole reason you have friends." I placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "So you don't have to do the terrible parts alone." She looked between Josh and me and seemed as if she wanted to cry but before anything else could be said a limo had parked right next to us. Josh got excited and made a joke until the person had rolled their window down and it was Aya, making our smiles immediately disappear. She said hello to Josh and me making me grimace and told Vina to get in the car, saying they had something they had to discuss. Before Vina climbed in I grabbed her hand gently, "Don't let them take advantage of you. I'm tired of everyone walking all over you whenever they need something from you." She looked at me with a smile and kissed my cheek, promising to call Josh and me later, and got in. We watched the limo drive away and looked at each other with a sigh before having some lunch and catching up.
After going my separate way from Josh I went back to the compound to try and find Cam only to find out from Hail that she wasn't there, she left early in the morning so Nikky went to go and find her. Lijah was also gone because he went to speak with Aya about the prophecy that's still hanging in the air. Hail was going to be staying at the compound so I thought I would be able to sleep in my own home but she asked for me to stay with her and help her unpack the apartment so I told her not to worry about the apartment and that I'd take care of it. She was telling me about Cam and how she seemed different now that she was a vampire. I didn't understand what she meant until it was already nighttime and we heard yelling coming from the living room. It was Nikky and Cam, he was trying to prevent her from leaving so Hail said that she'd handle it and had taken Cam away to another room to talk while I went to make some dinner for Rey since she's been working non-stop to still try and figure out this prophecy. Once I had dropped it off and watched her eat it since I knew she would get too distracted I went back home to find Hail, Lijah, and Nikky making a mess of Hope's playroom. Frustrated I walked into the room, "Hey! I just cleaned this, this afternoon!" They all turned to me so I furrowed my brow, "What? What is it?" They went to explain the vision Lijah was shown when he went to see The Strix and the witches mentioning a "pale white horse" which they realized was the wooden knight that Nik had carved for Bekah and not just any wood, but white oak. I was disturbed that after all this time Hope's favorite toy was the one thing that could kill my family. I told them it was there this afternoon and Nikky said he believed me and told us who had it and what he said shocked me, "My trusted therapist."
