The next day I got a call from Hail, she told me that Jax was upset with her for always helping the Mikaelsons when they call her. I felt bad because he decided to stay in the bayou for now so I told her for the time being I'd stay with her in the apartment so she wasn't alone. I, however, was currently in the Mikaelson compound with Rey and Lijah. They were setting up a barrier spell around an unconscious Tristan. They were going to torture him since Aurora had given him the longitude coordinates while she had the latitude coordinates. Lijah told me that Nikky was out trying to find Cam because apparently when they went to Tristan's apartment last night, she was missing. I was worried but I knew with Nikky's affections for Cam then there wouldn't be anything in the world that would stop him from finding her. Hail had come over saying she wanted a piece of Tristan so Rey and I had taken Hope back to the apartment to watch her while Hail had her fun. Mary, Jax's grandma, who I've met on several occasions came over to help out. Rey didn't much like her which made me giggle so I told her we'd be okay and she could go back to the compound and help Lijah. I sat with Mary and spoke with her, she was an elder in the Crescent Pack so she reminded me of Rayne. I missed her so much and thought of her every time I spent time with Mary.
After a while Hail had come back and we talked about Jax being away and Mary was saying despite the Mikaeslons needing help, Jax needed help too. She told me no offense and I told her none taken and agreed with her and told Hail that Jax is family too. We convinced her to go and see Jax in the Bayou so she was packing up but as soon as she packed the last thing she looked across at the compound and said something was wrong. Mary tried stopping Hail and me from going but I told her that they were my family too and immediately ran across the street. I watched Hail jump from the balcony and cursed at her hybrid nature and ran faster but I ran into the room and watched Mar stab Lijah in the back making me gasp and scream out his name, "LIJAH NOOOOO!" I already had tears running as I watched him drop to the floor already a familiar pale gray indicating he was desiccated. I looked at Mar, "Why, Mar?" He didn't answer and just walked to the side while three other Strix members advanced against Hail and me. I lifted my hands to snap the necks of all three of them but before I could one of them sped to me and punched me in the cheek, disorienting me. He got on top of me and wrapped his large hands around my throat and started to choke me. I tried prying his hands off and realized I couldn't and started panicking making it impossible to use my magic. From the corner of my eye, I noticed the other two choking Hail against the pillar but Mar had ripped their hearts out from behind, and just as I was losing consciousness Hail had lobbed off the head of the man who was choking me, making blood splatter on my face.

I was currently laying on the couch with my head on Rey's lap. My neck was badly bruised with an ugly black and blue color already forming because I refused to drink any blood after watching that man's head roll next to me. Rey too was hurt, by Aya, but Mar got to her in time to give her his blood. I was watching Lijah pace back and forth in frustration since Tristan was freed because of what Mar did but I sat up and walked up to him and grabbed the sides of his face, "Be calm Lijah. We'll figure it out, I'm sure, but I really don't think Mar is our enemy right now. With that being said, I am going to take a hot bath right now because I can't stand the sight of blood right now." I kissed his forehead after assuring everyone I was fine after they gave my neck one look and grimaced. I thought it couldn't have been that bad until I walked into Lijah's bathroom and looked in the mirror. I almost gagged at the sight and laughed to myself at the odds of my neck not breaking as soon as the vampire had squeezed but I boiled it down to the vampire being a sadistic bastard who wanted to enjoy killing me with his hands. I pushed the thoughts away, showered quickly, and changed before going into Nikky's study to pour myself a much-needed gallon of whiskey.
