Nova's POV
(Reminder of outfit, ignore bag.)
We made a plan on the way to New Orleans that Bekah and Lijah would visit Josh while Kol, Hail, Rey, and I would visit Rey's tower where she practices magic. She still didn't tell me what "werewolf hostage," meant but I could take a wild guess. As soon as we got to the tower we got to work locating Nik who we discovered was kept underground in the tunnels that lead throughout the city. We guessed Mar carved out a potion to make a prison for Nikky so we made our way to Rousseau's where we knew there was an entrance when we saved those werewolf kids a while back. When we arrived I noticed Bekah missing and that's when Lijah informed me she was meant to be the distraction. I was scared for her but I just hoped the love Mar had for her would keep her safe. Josh was able to kick everyone out so I finally had the chance to walk out and hug him while Kol commented, "See, wasn't that easier than having us try and kill everyone?" I gave him a pointed look after letting Josh go while Lijah spoke up, "Would you be so kind as to move that freezer unit so that we might be able to have access to the tunnels?" Josh hesitated but I held his hand, "Please J. We don't have much time. We're not gonna harm anyone. We just want him back and when we do we'll leave...For good." He snapped his head to me at the last part so I just smiled and waited so eventually he nodded and went to move the fridge covering the entrance to the tunnel system. Josh moved it over and walked back, "Okay, you're all set here. So, uh, good luck, break a leg, and I'll just be on my way." He tried walking away but Lijah caught his arm while Kol commented, "What, so you rat us out to Marcel? Not bloody likely." Rey sighed, "Oh, just snap his neck. We'll be done by the time he wakes up," Lijah wasn't confident though, "And if he wakes before that?" Kol's quick answer, "Then kill him," I snapped my head to him while Josh spoke, "I'm right here, guys." I added afterward with a glare to Kol, "We're not killing him, Troublemaker," Lijah agreed, "You're right, little one. For some reason, he's of value to Marcel. Kol would you--?" Kol finished for him, "Happy to stay and have a drink and eviscerate anyone who tries to follow you." I cringed at his choice of words and looked at Lijah, "I'm gonna stay and watch Kol because Josh has value to me too. Good luck and be safe." He nodded his head and after kissing my forehead he left with Rey and Hail to get Nikky.
While we waited Kol helped himself to a drink along with Josh as I walked to the wall full of photos of Cam, Vina, and me. We had gone to Pontchartrain Beach for an impromptu picnic and had taken a photo together by the water. I felt the tears build as I remembered that day as if it was yesterday. I lifted my hand and caressed the photo with a smile and felt a presence behind me and knew it was Troublemaker. I spoke to no one in particular but I knew both were listening, "We decided to go to the beach that day. We had nothing to do and we promised to go have breakfast every Sunday. It was a beautiful day so we thought, why not? We talked about all sorts of things...Our past, our future. Vina wanted to live by the beach, it was her favorite place. The sound of the ocean, the seagulls singing in the sky, and the warm sand underneath her feet. Cam wanted to live near a forest, with a waterfall or a stream so she could be surrounded by the sounds of nature. She said it made her feel calm and at peace." My voice broke by the end so Kol wrapped his arms around me from behind to give me comfort, so I swallowed the lump in my throat and turned to Josh with a smile when he spoke up, "Are you really gonna leave here for good when you get Klaus?" Before I could answer Kol beat me to it, "We just want to get our brother and leave. I, for one, hope to never see this filthy city again." Josh looked at him stare at Vina in the photo and cleared his throat, "I was with someone. This guy, Aiden. He died. Killed by your aunt actually. And afterward, I hated everything. I mean everything. Even the...sun. You know? It just kept coming up every morning, like it was any other day and the world hadn't completely changed. It's taken forever for me to feel normal again." Kol turned to him sarcastically, "How fortunate for you that you do," but Josh continued, "You will, too. It does get better, Kol. Eventually." Kol started to get mad and let go of me, "Why are you telling me this?" I quickly grabbed his hand to calm him but Josh continued again, "I think Davina would have wanted me to."
