The next few days were pretty carefree until I got a phone call, it was Day. I was so happy to find out that he and Bon were alive but he gave me the sad news that Liz had cancer and was dying. He told me everything that happened after I saw him and Bon on The Other Side. He told me they were in a prison world that was stuck in 1994 and how they relived the same day for four months. Day said they found out that there was someone else with them, a boy named Kai Parker. He was sent there for killing some of his siblings in 1994 and he had a device that could bring them home but he didn't have magic, he was a siphoner meaning he didn't have natural magic, he could only absorb it. In the end, Bon was able to send Day back but at the price of remaining in the prison world with Kai. Kai was able to come back here and had siphoned all the magic that was in the Traveler's spell, allowing the supernatural to enter Mystic Falls again. That's how they found out about Liz's cancer. She got hurt and went to the hospital where they found a tumor in her brain stem. Day told me that she wasn't looking too good and thought that Care would need me more than ever. I agreed immediately and booked the next plane out of Louisiana letting everyone know I'd be gone for a little while. On the way there I started to feel guilty since I hadn't talked with Care since I was so busy with everything in New Orleans. Hoping I'd make it on time to be there for her I rushed to Mystic Falls once the plane landed. Taking a cab to Care's house I arrived only to find no one there so using my magic I quickly found them at the hospital. An overwhelming pain filled my heart knowing yet another person I loved was going to die.

When I arrived I spotted Day standing outside. Since I had ran all the way there I was out of breath and when I was finally able to breathe semi-normal I heaved out his name making him snap his head to me. Seeing the painful look on his face I ran to him where his arms were already open. I jumped into his arms and held him tightly with tears already flowing, not only from having him back but because of the life we were about to lose, Care's mom, our best friend. We went inside and I saw Mattie, Lena, and Stef who I each gave a hug to, and piled into the hospital room where I saw Care showing Liz one last memory. Smiling at the memory Care was showing I walked full into the room until I heard the flatline on the machines. I walked past everyone and turned the machine off and turned to Care, "Care?" Hearing my voice she whipped her head to me with wide eyes and after finally realizing it was me she lunged into my open arms and cried while I held her to me while stroking her hair. Once Care was able to stop crying we made our way to the Boarding house where Ty had met us. I watched one by one as Mattie and Ty fell asleep on the floor, Lena and Care on each couch, and Stef on a chair. I heard noises coming from the kitchen and walked in to see Day with an open bottle of bourbon and a notepad with scrunched-up papers already torn off. I smiled softly knowing what he was doing, he was trying to write a eulogy for Liz, per her request. I stood there watching until he got frustrated and slammed his hand down on the table making it my cue to approach. I sat next to him and faced him while placing my hand on his back, "Not even one day on the other side and she's still trying to help you...That's what I loved so much about her." He looked at me with a lopsided smile, "I told her about my mom. How I was supposed to say something at her funeral but I didn't."
