Ninth Chapter : Reminisce Part Four
                              [ six years ago ]
This part happened around the 104th Training Corps.

"A training in the middle of snow? Are they still in their right minds?" Ymir exclaimed in utter disbelief as she kicked the poor rock out of frustration.

All of us nodded and it was me who decided to respond to what Ymir said. "Firm, adaptation and standstill. Those are just some of the traits a soldier must have. That's why this training is so important." I told all of them.

Those words came from Commander Erwin. He was the one who told me that when we were training.

And yeah, it's kind of unfair but I'm used to all of these now.

The training started at night when it was far too many times colder than day and luckily, the Instructor was kind enough to make us wear coats and boots. Thank heavens.

We walked individually and to be honest, I don't even have a clue as to where my other comrades currently ate. The fog was as thick as hell, and the layers of snow prevented me to walk faster, how unlucky.

However, as I continued walking, I heard consecutive coughs just near me. It was echoing in every direction. I don't even know why am I concerened about it when I should walk my ass out of here as soon as possible.

I tried to search for whoever is the owner of those cough because that person obviously can't stand the coldness of the tempereture ; that person needs help. Good thing was, my eyes are like the hawk's. Sharp.

Yes, my sharp eyes looked for the whoever that person is and on my left, just a few meters away from me, I saw a person leaning his body against the snow-covered log.
The person looked fragile and it was a man. He was probably one of us because as I started walking towards him, I could see the familliar white coat that was given to each one of us. I disappointedly shook my head as I finally clearly saw his state.
                              Weakling.

We aren't even halfway done and he's looking almost lifeless now. He would die in any second if I didn't find him here.
I stopped midway, what am I doing? Why should I help this man when I should be going ahead! I was never the one to help helpless people. I leave them be. I'm selfish, especially to the ones I don't even know. I heaved a deep sigh and stared at the man when I heard him cough again.

"You should've just quit if you can't even afford to—-" I halted myself to speak when I saw his head rise, making me see his face clearly.
