Fifth Chapter : Mourn

"We can end this," Hope filled my entire system as I muttered those four words. Even though some part of me is still so anxious, I know we can end this. Evil can always be diminished. Maybe not entirely gone, but atleast conquered. I believe in that. I should believe in that.

Jean and Mikasa nodded, "Surely, I know we can  without a doubt. We can end this, we can bring back peace." Jean said with no hint of unsurity in his voice, he never looked like he was wavering.

His words bought more hope to my lone heart which strengthened my will to fight, he is right.

Also, just like what Eren had always reminded me, in this kind of world we were born in, people like, like us are left with no other choice but to fight for our lives. We fight or . . . we die.

I am scincerely sorry for betraying you, Reiner, Annie, and Betholdt. You guys will always be the best for me, please forgive me.

"Sasha!" Jean shouted which made Sasha nod as she threw the thunder spear towards the Amored Titan's jaw. They were fighting him, like they don't give a fuck who's inside that titan.

Does it really have to be like this? My hands shake with the thought of me, aiming a thunder spear at Reiner.  I heaved a deep breath. This is for the best, Y/N.

With another shaky breath, I started throwing multiple thunder spears toward Reiner's titan too by Jean's command. Our work did not go in vain, we noticed how Reiner was slowly becoming much slower than he already is.

And, after those countless tries, we finally succedeed. We got Reiner out of the Armored Titan's nape and claimed our victory towards the Amored Titan.

None of my comrades were smiling as we got Reiner out of his Titan. I know they feel the same way as I am too. After all, Reiner was still our dear friend.

Again, I am sorry Reiner.

"What are we going to do now?" Jean exhaled a heavy breath as he stared towards Reiner's direction.

Hange–san was talking to him.

I wanted to approach him and apologize I wanted to do so many things. I wanted to smile for him for the last time.

And so . . . I did.

"R–Reiner," I called for his name in a low voice.

He looked up weakly as his lips rose.
