24. Chapter Twenty-Four

Twenty-Fourth Chapter : Realization

The words that Levi told me came ringing in my mind the whole night but I chose to shake it away when morning finally came.

I readied breakfast for Eren and immediately went to his room to give it to him.

When I arrived, I tried my very best to smile and knocked my shaking hands at the door.

It didn't take long when it opened and I saw Eren with a blank look. His eyes looked like it haven't rested for a second and dark circles were in it. Those two orbs weren't shining anymore and I wonder why?

"Love, morning!" I gulped when those words finally left my mouth.

In my mind, I was begging heavens that what he said the other night was just a joke and that he didn't really mean it. But his blank stares and emotionless face slapped me the fact.

Without a word, he looked at the tray I was holding and just like before, he held it but threw it away in a very harsh way.

The next thing I knew, the foods I prepared for an hour was now uselessly laying at the cold ground.

I let out a sigh and a sad smile.

That's it. That's just it. I'm tired.

"Leave." He coldly said. And without a word, I nodded as I left him there.

I was sure that I shocked him somehow. He must have thought that I would adamantly shake my head and stubbornly tell him that I will stay.

But I was tired. I was so tired.

"Oh, hey Y/N! Where'd ya go?" Sasha asked, smiling widely.

Not wanting to burst her joyful bubble, I forced myself to smile. "To Historia's place. I'm taking care of her, right?" I told her.

Sasha's smile disappeared. "Oh..." She said.

"What's with the face, Sasha?" I asked.

I watched her as she tried to smile but failed. "Y-You know me, Y/N. I could never hate anyone but I'll tell you this...I hate Historia. So much." It shocked me. Sasha shocked me.

Not just because her words were bold and hurtful but because the words she said came from her. The carefree and forgiving Sasha. But then, what she said next shocked me more.

"Just like what everybody else are saying right now...Historia is a selfless bitch."

After saying that, she left.

Until now, I still don't know what was up to my friends but I'll focus on taking care of Historia for now, it must have been hard to be pregnant and lose her friends at the same time. That's why I'll stay with her for now. She needs me, I know that more than anything else.

I shook my head and continued walking to her place.

"Y/N!" Historia called for me when I finally arrived. Again, I smiled at her as I crouched to touch her baby bump.

I wonder what gender will this kid be?

Will he be as handsome as his unknown father or as beautiful as her mother? It made me smile unconciously. Either ways, I will surely take care of her.

"Be a good kid, hmm?" I baby-talked the living being on Historia's stomach.

That'll probably be a Titan too.

"Y/N..." I hummed in response when Historia called for my name again.

"I-I...I have something to tell you, Y/N." I pursed my lips. That was what she also told me before but she ended up not telling it anyway.

"If you don't have any plans on finishing what you're about to say, just keep it and say it when you're ready, Historia. I can manage." I reassured her. Even though I know myself that curiosity was eating me alive, I had no choice but to be understanding.

"I'm pregnant, Y/N." She told me, not minding what I just told her.

Her words made me crease my forehead. I know that already, what was she trying to say?

"I'm four months pregnant, Y/N." Tears started pouring down her beautiful face. Her blue eyes were shining.

It made me crease my forehead more. I know that too.

"What's your point, Historia? If you're just joking around then sto—" She cut me off.

"Do you know why Eren would always visit me before the sun rises and before the sun sets?" She asked, confusing the hell of me. I don't, but maybe becaus he was worried for her?

I mean, they're friends too.

"Do you know why he's always asking if I told you something? Do you know why he's acting like that to you? Do you know the reason why our friends hate me to the core?" She asked again.

My lips parted when it finally dawned me.

"I'm getting guiltier and guiltier each day, Y/N." Historia said as she cried harder.

Tears also started running down my face as realization hit me.
