Fourteenth Chapter : Readying Armors
I woke up, feeling the heat of the sun in my skin and my eyes automatically looked for the man I was with yesterday.
I sighed in relief when I saw him beside me, with those eyes I have always loved and adored, staring right through my soul.
"Mornin', love." He muttered in a hoarse voice while he placed a soft kiss on my forhead.
Maybe he just woke up too? I smiled back and greeted him too.
"Always add 'good' in your morning, don't be bitter." I advised him.
He chuckled lowly and nodded. "My morning . . . was indeed great." He said as he stared at me with a smug look which got me rolling my eyes, but then, after a couple of seconds, I end up groaning as I felt the pain creeping in my system. In between my thighs, to be exact.
Because this man forgot the words 'stop' and 'rest' the other night.
"My whole body hurts," I complained, giving him a frowning look that slowly turned into a cute pout to which he responded with a sexy laugh.
"Those lips of yours look exactly like a duck's bill." He remarked.
I ended up glaring at him which made Eren laugh again. Then, he snaked his arm around my waist and rested his face on my neck.
"I can't see your face." I complained for the second time.
He didn't give me any response and just continued to nuzzle on my neck. Our position stayed for quite a while until I tapped his back, remembering something.
"We need to get ready, Eren."
Yes, we need to plan our next step to defeat the enemy. There's no time to waste right now.
Then, memories of last week started coming back in my head. It just made me smile bitterly as I forced myself to forget those.
Yesterdays are closing doors.
I do not need to come back to it anymore. I should let my loved ones who left me, rest in peace and quietness. Because life's been a hell for them. For us.
"Are you fine, love?" He asked with a hint of concern in his voice.
I forced myself to smile and nod. This man in front of me had been through hell and walked through fire too. It's not just me, everybody has their own monsters to fight.
So I shouldn't sit down and cry until I want to.
Because just like I always say, the world is unfair. It has always been.
"I'm fine, perfectly fine . . . but my body is aching a bit."
He chuckled, "Can you still stand up, then?" Duh. Of course I can. I nodded my head.
