Chapter 4 - Part 5 - Investigation

A/N

This part is shorter than usual, but I tell myself to make every investigation at least two parts so that's what I'm doing

Mary lifted the body out of the water so that we could investigate properly. 

Katherine seemed shocked into silence. It was hard to tell wether she was sad or not. Selina seemed more annoyed than sad. Milo looked an equal amount of sad and annoyed. And everyone else seemed disappointed or upset. 

I sighed and decided to start investigating. Thomas' body was surprisingly clean. No scars, signs of struggle or anything making it look like he was attacked. There was, however, handcuffs around his wrists and a small cut on his left hand.

I looked into the pool for any kind of evidence, but all I saw were his glasses.

Hm... If Thomas had night duty... Then perhaps the infected saw something?

I decided to talk to Selina first. "Hey, Selina, Thomas had night duty last night... Is there any chance you saw something?" I asked. She pouted "Well... My memory is really fuzzy. That's probably a side effect from the disease... But I did hear something! The most I remember is somebody saying "If you're gonna make this a good case, you're better off using the pool.", Is that any help?"

Hm...

 "Yeah, that's should help." I muttered "Thanks Selina!"

I saw Katherine examining an open locker. She seemed to be holding onto a note. "Hey, Katherine?" Once she heard my voice, she hid the note almost immediately. She glared at me "D-Don't sneak up on people..."

 Katherine is hiding something... But that's probably something to save for the trial

 "N-Nico!"

Lydia ran up to me and looked rather shocked. She grabbed my arm "There's something weird... C'mon!" And started leading me to the Nurse's Office. 

Once we got there, I saw the pills used to get Milo to sleep spread all across the floor. The tub lay open on one of the tables there was a small patch of blood on the floor. But the weirdest thing of all was something lying on one of the beds. 

A syringe which appeared to have anaesthetic in it
