Chapter 2 - Part 6 - Investigation

Hello everybody! I'm very sorry for the lack of posts, I haven't had a lot of motivation these past few days due to personal stuff but I'm gonna try and get back to my normal writing schedule soon (which is basically just "whenever I can")

Joseph was shaking and his eyes were filled with tears. Milo seemed disturbed by the style of murder and I just felt horrible. 

 "You're just like Tyler when his friend died."

 To our surprise Mary was stood at the library entrance. She looked at the body with the same hopeless expression she wore when we met her. The others soon arrived and naturally Brooke was last. She looked like she was going to cry "I told you it was a bad idea! I told you I told you I told you!" 

Nobody argued with her. She was right. 

Joseph was still crying and Thomas silently comforted him. Ivy looked at him oddly "I don't get it. Mr Actor over there was a dick and your reason for liking him is worse that him. He tried to kill you!" 

Joseph was clearly annoyed. "Ignore her." Thomas muttered "The majority of us lost people, including her. Just take as long as you need." I saw Lydia examining something.

Guess we can't grieve forever...

I went over and looked at whatever she was looking at. It was a small white string. She noticed me "Oh! Nico! I was just looking at this thingy..." It seemed as though the string has snapped. The half we were looking at was attached to the bookshelf by duck tape. I then saw a longer half on the bookcase on the opposite side of the room.

Milo had noticed it too "Do you think... It was a trap?" He asked. "What kinda trap?" I asked. He picked up the string and continued "Maybe the string was set up to make him trip..." He then looked at Liam's boy. "Help me lift the body." He said. I nodded and we both tried holding up Liam's dead body.  

And underneath, was a button

It was hard to notice at first since it seem to blend in with the floor slightly. Milo looked up, and the our surprise there was an open claw of sorts. Milo was clearly confused "What the hell are these things doing in a library..." Then, he looked over at Mary who was standing at the back of the room. "Oi, Mary or whatever the hell your name is, do you know anything about this?" She perked up slightly and walked over to us. Then she signed "I suppose it can't do a lot of harm... Yes. A student requested me to place this button." 

I was taken aback slightly with the response "I-Isn't that rule breaking?! I mean, Sarah was killed for influencing Daniel's murder so wouldn't you be killed for that?!" 

Mary paused, then muttered "One, I'm not in a position where I'll be killed just like that. And two, this student committed the crime in their own will. I'm simply a supply of sorts. That is allowed."

Milo seemed fascinated by this "Aha, so what you're saying is, you added these parts into the library and temporary basis? Now, Miss Mary, when did the student ask for these features? Before or after the party?" Mary scowled at him "Mr Plains if you really think I'd give valuable info like that away then you're just as stupid as your brother."

 "Step-Brother." Milo hissed under his breath. 

When Mary left, Milo smiled at me. "I think we're onto something Nico. Let's keep investigating."
