I was pretty drained when I got up the next day. I didn't sleep but I lay by the Nurse's Office door and ate gummy bears from the vending machine.

Selina was the first awake. She waved at me "Nico! Stay over there in the corner!"

Ok... If she speaks in lies... That means she wants me to come over

I walked towards her bed and she smiled. She then pouted "Nicooo... I wanna stay! Its not boring in here!"

By that she means... She wants to leave. Hm...

I sighed "Sorry Selina... But your disease is contagious. And I wouldn't want it to spread. Besides, if I take you I have to take the others because I'm supposed to be watching you guys." She huffed at me "Fine! Stay."

 That's my cue to leave...

Soon later the other two woke up. Milo was easily pleased but Joseph was clearly in a bad mood. "I hate this crummy nurse's office." He muttered. I sighed "Look, I get these conditions are pretty unfair, but it's for everyone else's safety. Milo isn't complaining!"

Milo paused then looked at me childishly "Well... I do wanna go outside but I don't wanna get shouted at."

I feel like a god damn single mother over here...

 "Ah, Nico."

Thomas was at the doorway but he didn't look his smiley self. He looked tired and as if he'd been crying. "Thomas, what happened?!" I asked. He shook his head "Nothing... Just... Thoughts."

He then put a half-assed smile on his face "Its alright. Anyways, how are they?" His question was pretty much answered by Milo smiling "Dad's back dad's back!" Thomas chuckled. I looked at him "He doesn't really mean what he says... Does he?" I asked slightly curious. Thomas looked to the side "Well... From what I gathered yesterday, this disease is just an exaggerated version of how they really feel. For example, Milo calling you darling or things like that. It's exaggerating on the fact he sees you as a close companion. For me, I think the normal Milo sees me as a father figure."

I perked up at this "Is that the same for all of them?" I asked. "I'm not entirely sure with the other two. I think Joseph's might come from an exaggerated version of internal anger. As a therapist, he doesn't want to let too many feelings loose so that he doesn't hurt others."

I chuckled "You should be a psychologist!" He smiled "Heh, that's what Emma always said..."

He paused after mentioning Emma. Then, before I could stop him, his eyes started filling with tears. "Oh God... Emma..."

The fact Emma was dead seemed to be sinking in for him. I grab a nearby tissue and wiped his eyes "Hey hey, it's ok. She's... In a better place now..."

A minute or so passed. He seemed to calm himself down "Terribly sorry... I've been rather emotional this morning... Not exactly sure why.." He put it aside almost immediately "Anyhoo! Back on topic, do you have any questions when it comes to looking after them during the day?"

Hm...

"Yes actually!" I told him "Do you think... I could maybe being them outside the nurse's office? They're starting to complain about being bored... Just taking them for a quick breakfast wouldn't hurt, right?" Thomas had to think about this. "Well... Alright. How about you spend all day in the game room with them? It has plenty of entertainment and I'll make sure the others stay clear of it. You just have to remember the risk you're putting to yourself."

I nodded and then Thomas smiled "Great! I'll get them all round up." Thomas clapped his hands together and the three got into a line.

He lead them to the game room and once we were all there, he turned to me "Remember, it's like looking after children." Then he closed the door behind him and left.
