The others soon arrived. I felt Katherine clutch onto me "I don't wanna do another trial..." She muttered "It'll be ok..." I whispered "Guys..." Mathew said suddenly "I don't wanna make things worse but...

...Lydia isn't with us"

Oh no

Phillip was the first to react "W-What?! No..." He ran out the shed immediately. Soon later, we heard him scream. We all headed out their with him...

And saw something shocking

Lydia Jones, The Ultimate Paranormal Investigator, dead

...or was she?

The body discovery announcement didn't play, even though there was more than three people to see the body. "H-Huh..?!" I mumbled "Why isn't the discovery announcement playing..?"

 "She's not dead."

Mary was stood behind us. She approached the body "Just passed out." She stated. She picked up the body and muttered "Nico, Phillip. Come with me." We followed Mary into the room. I looked at Phillip "You seemed pretty panicked when Lydia was missing... Did you two make up?" I asked. Phillip nodded "We... Talked things out. It's all good!"

Something about him feels off...

I put it all aside. We waited in the nurse's office for about ten minutes. Then, she woke up.

"Lydia!" I went up to her "Are you ok? What happened? Did you get attacked by the killer?" She took a few seconds to collect herself, then quietly murmured.

 "I... Don't remember... Anything."

Huh?

There was a long silence. "What..?" I asked. Lydia looked at us both "I don't know... I don't remember anything from after the motive... what day is it?" She asked. "Well... I don't know for certain but according to my personal notes it's day seven." Lydia was shaking "Why don't I remember anything... Phillip what happened?" She looked at him with slight hope. Phillip hesitated "...Opal is dead."

There was another pause. Then Lydia looked away "Oh..." She went to touch her hair but then gasped "W-Where..." Phillip sat next to her and put a hand on her shoulders "I'm sorry... The killer must have gut it off or something... Probably from a struggle... B-But if it helps I still think you look great!"

She muttered something but nobody heard what it was.

"Are you gonna be ok alone with her?" I asked Phillip. He nodded "Yeah..."

I headed out the room and saw Milo at Lydia's dorm room door. He noticed me "Oh, Nico. I was gonna check in Lydia's room... See if there were any signs of a struggle." He went to open the door. I was gonna point out it would be locked but it opened.

Milo didn't question it. He went straight in. The room was clean and there was no sign of blood or damage or anything. "Guess this wasn't where the struggle took place..." Milo muttered. We saw Lydia's Monopad lying on her bed. Milo picked it. "What are you doing?" I asked. He smiled "Checking for messages. You can send texts through these, so maybe there's some kind of evide-"

He cut himself off as he opened the messages. "What is it?" I asked.

 Then, I saw Lydia's messages

 "W-What the..."

Lydia had asked Opal to come to the garden.

But why...

Milo put the device down "Let's investigate the proper crime scene... Save this for the trial."

Right... Saving it for the trial

...I don't like where this is going
