TIP: Eclipses

Camp

River yawned as she got up and stretched her arms. She suddenly stopped when she remembered last night. She looked beside her and found no Edward and sighed half relief and half disappointed.

She took a quick shower and went to her room. She jumped and whimpered a little loud.

"Sorry, did I scare you?" The bronze coloured hair teenage vampire asked.

"What do you think?" She hissed,"I thought you left." River said moving to her draws.

"I did. Bella is with Jacob."

River doesn't say anything and just nodded pulling out clothes for her to wear.

"When did you get a tattoo?" Edward suddenly asked.

River stood straight, back facing him,"sometime last year." She simply answered

"Can I see it?" Edward asked looking back from her face to her shoulder.

River hesitantly nodded.

Edward walked closer to her and painful slowly transfer her wet hair from her shoulder to the other shoulder,"why a paw?" He asked confused, blowing cold air to her hot skin.

Edward unaware of how his actions made River feel. She shivered,"I don't know."

Edward frowned as he stared at River.

"Edward there so much I need to tell you and others but not now. We have to focus of Victoria." River said hanging on to her towel.

"I have something to say to you too." Edward said.

"Edward." River sighed.

"Just hear me out before you shoot me down."

"Edward, haven't we done enough talking."

"No not until you hear what I have to say." Edward said determined.

"Fine." River sighed.

"I'll be outside."

River nodded before she watched him get out of her room. She quickly hit dressed

"We'll meet them at the campsite." Edward explained as they walked in forest.

"Okay." River nodded following Edward closely behind,"can you give me a minute."

"Why?" Edward frowned.

"Just need to check something. I'll be with in minute."

Edward nodded,"I'll meet you at the campsite." He said before he walked away.

River waited until he was far enough before she sighed and looked around her,"its been a while. A lot has happened this past year. Coming to you and talking to you has become a distant. I thought I was imagining things when I was kid but now I know you're real. I know you listening. Please help me, help my family. Please protect them. I don't care what's happens to me, just watch over them."

A gust of wind blew the trees, they danced and swirled around.

Snow falls in earnest now, glacial winds blow, Jacob sets Bella down.

"Thank you." Edward said bringing bella close to him.

Jacob nodded.

Bella turned to Jacob as well,"You should get back before the storm hits."

"No, I'm staying. You'll need my connection to the pack, to keep tabs on what's going on." He explained.

"You're not going to fight?"

"Seth will spell me in the morning. He's not happy about missing the action, but it'll keep him out of trouble."

"Me and Jacob will take this one." River says after she was done setting up.

"No, Jacob can get his own tent." Edward said protectively.

"Jacob didn't bring one." River said throwing her bag into her tent.

"That his problem." Edward argued.

"It cool. I can hang outside and keep a look out." Jacob said before leaving.

"What is your problem?" River asked narrowing her eyes as she poking his chest.

"My problem is you're 17 you shouldn't be sharing a room with a moody, emotional teenage werewolf." Edward said.

"It won't be the first time."

Edward frowned in disbelief before grabbing her arm and walking away from prying ears,"Is this your way of making jealous cause working." Edward said.

"Good." River said,"but as much as I would love to take credit, that's not at all my intentions. Jacob has no tent and I'm offering my own.

Edward looked at River,"you've changed."

"Life happens. Shit happens Edward. "

"Talk to me. Tell me what's bothering you."

"Nothing." She said calmly before walking away.

Edward grabbed her hand,"I heard you last night. River, you were crying. It scared the hell out of me. Tell me what's going on."

"Do you really want to know."

"Yes."

"After you broke my heart and lost everything I lived for. I had to fly to volterra to save your ass. I met an amazing guy who wants to love me but I won't let him because of you."

"Logan? That guy is a bad influence on you. You're better off without him. He taught you to kill." Edward whispered.

"I would be die by now."

"You wouldn't have had to fight if you stayed away from him."

"Logan has been the best part of my life. He makes me smile, laugh." River chuckled gentle as she thought about him,"the thing is I can't escape the world that I live in."

"Where is he now? He's now even here. You're facing an army of newborns and he's not even here to protect you."

"He has to find Katharine, my mother and the truth. Logan has been there for me more than you ever  were in my entire life. Where were you when I was kidnapped? When I was tortured? Where were you when I was nearly killed because of what I am and I what I have done in my previous life. Where were you? Huh? Logan was there. Fought by me. Saved me countless times." River said tears flowing down her face.

"Kidnapped, tortured. River. Why didn't you tell me? I would have fought for you and I still would. "

"There was nothing you could have done."

"I...we would risked anything to save you."

"After you left. You weren't protecting me than you ain't protecting me now." River said wiping her tears rapidly with the sleeve of her sweater.

"Thats not true. I'm sorry for everything. I know I'm the cause of suffering and I can never apologize enough. Your trust is the most important thing for me and I know I've broken it one too many times and I'm sorry." Edward said frown.

"I don't want your apologies. I want out. Out of your tangled mess. I don't want to feel the way I feel for you anymore. " River said before she walked fast before Edward could stop her.
