An Eye For An Eye

River woke up and changed into fresh, clean clothes. She stepped out the tent stretching a littl, breathing in the cold, clean air.

She than started looking for anyone else. She spotted Edward alone, standing on the edge, looking down. River walked towards him, snow crumbling with every step she took.

"Hey." River said startling him.

"You're awake." Edward said surprised before he vampire sped towards her, placing his hands on her shoulders,"are you okay?"

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" River asked as she pulled away with a frown on her face

"You passed out last, after talking to yourself. You don't you remember. " Edward said worried.

Flashes of the night before came into River's mind,"oh." She held her head.

"Are you okay?" Edward asked with concern.

"Its just a headache. It will pass." River stood where Edward stood,"what's happening down there?"

"Standby. No Victoria, no newborns." Edward said worried and decided just to drop it. They both stood there waiting,"River." Edward started, turned to River,"promise you won't leave my side or my sight." Edward asked.

River looked into his eyes,"you know I can't promise you that." River chuckled.

"River, I'm serious. You need to stay by me at all times." Edward said his voice dead serious.

"Fine." River said crossing her arms,"where is Bella and Jacob?"

"They are around." Edward said a little annoyed.

"So you're planning on turning Bella?"

"You heard."

"A little." River said,"does she want this?"

"Yes."

"Do you want that for her?" River said turning towards him.

"It not like I have a choice. The Volturi wants her turned as soon as possible." Edward said.

River nodded.

"If I don't they going to kill Bella." Edward said. After along silence,"you're not going to try and stop me."

"No. Its Bella choice not mine, not yours..... Its hard not having a choice in anything happening in your. To be given a change to your decisions. That's why I won't take that away from anyone." River said folding her arms,"I'll be back. I just need to check a few things."

Edward nodded,"don't go too far."

"My, my if keep this up than you will be all alone and won't need to kill you." A voice from behind her said.

"What do you want, Victoria?" River said hers eyes glow blue ready a fight if neccessary.

"Is that a way to greet your old friend."

"You're not your friend." "Now what do want?!" River asked annoyed.

"Now now, I'm here to talk." Victoria said.

"About what exactly?" River asked.

Victoria looked at River curiously,"you really don't know."

"Know what?" River asked getting irritated by her one liner answers. Victoria doesn't answer making River frustrated,"answer me."

"I want to avenge James. To do that you need to die." Victoria finally said.

"I never did anything, he came after Bella and I." River said.
