Night Full Of Terror

River entered her little rental house and slammed her door shut. She leaned on the door for support, her eyes still wide as when leaned in to kiss her.

They were so close, so close. River winced. She could practical feel his warm, cherry lips on her on hers and his minty breath on hers. Why didn't he kiss her? Didn't he find her attractive? The blood from her cheeks have been drained and the spot where Logan tenderly kissed her, was still warm.

Thoughts about Edward came flooding into her mind. She couldn't let him go even after she begged him to let her go. No doubt she still deeply loved him. She couldn't help herself from comparing Edward and Logan. She has known Logan for a while and already he was almost holding a torch to Edward.

River's mind went Jacob. He was the first friend she went crying to after her breakup, he saved her from depression and possibly suicide. She tried to return the favour but it backfired. How can she trust someone after everything she's been through. How can she let someone into her broken heart.

Surely River didn't want to spend time with Logan so he can be a rebound. She wanted to know more about him. She wanted to let him in. She wanted to trust him. She wanted, no needed him to feel the same. She wanted to be needed by him. Most importantly she wanted him to be a part of her life and him to hers.

River smiled brightened before opened her door once again and ran outside, slamming the door behind her. She ran through the Logan went,"Logan." She desperately shouted, looking around.

In a dark alley two figures stood battling each other. They grunt and groaned at each other. Finally one figure which held dirty blonde hair that belonged to Logan faced away from River while the other faced her, a vampire with red eyes that bored into hers with pleading eyes.

Logan grabbed his head and pulled it over his shoulder. Logan tilted the vampire chin up and kneed down for leverage, Logan groaned as he pulled off his head from his shoulders. The headless body dropped to its knees lifeless before falling forward to the floor.

River gasped but held her hand over her mouth to stop her from making any noise. Tears threatened to fall. Terror overcame her.

Logan snapped from his position to his feet. His hard, dark, hateful eyes soften at a sight of her,"River, please... It's not...." He slowly stepped closer to her.

"Stop!! Stay away from me." River yelled holding her arms out, taking slow steps away.

"Give me a chance to explain." Logan begged taking slows steps towards her.

Without a word River turned the other way and ran.

With immense speed Logan ran and stood in front of her,"River please listen."

River's eyes widen looking behind her and Logan in front of her,"how did you do that? You know what do tell me... just..stay......away...from....me. Please." She begged.

Logan nodded sadly before he stepped aside and let her pass. He watched her walk away and he wanted to stop her, he didn't want to let her go, not again. He shouldn't have let her go back then. If he hadn't she would have lived a full life and maybe be here with him now.

He promised himself he would fix this and do things everything this time. He was going to protect her this time.. He watched her enter her house to make sure she was safe before he turned and walked away.

Logan paced back and forth outside the doors of the school library. He constantly snapped his eyes to the door whenever someone opened it to leave until finally River stepped out.

"River!" He ran towards her.

"Logan! What are you doing here?" River asked surprised as she struggled with the books in her hands.

"Let me help you with that." Logan went in to grab the books.

River pulled away,"no, I'm fine. Logan what do you want?"

"Okay, you're mad. You shouldn't have seen what you saw last night. If I've known...." Logan said,"I'm sorry."

"It doesn't matter. I'm leaving this afternoon." River looked into Logan's blue-greenish eyes.

"Let me drive you to airport." He offered.

"No! As if I'll go anyway with you ever again." River continued walking.

"Come on River. I already told you if I really wanted to kill you, you wouldn't be alive, right now. That day in Volterra I would have killed you on the spot, no hesitation."

"So you're a cold-hearted murderer?"

"No! That guy came after me. I was just protecting myself." Logan defended himself,"plus this is what I do."

"Kill people."

Logan put his hand on River's mouth and pushed her away from prying ears,"shh. Someone might hear you."

River stared at him before she bite the flash on his hand.

"Aw." Logan hissed as he removed his hand away from River's mouth. "You're teeth are sharper than I thought."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." River apologised as she tried to grab his hand to scan the damage,"of course their are. You also deserved it."

"I know." He said gently,"Can we talk about this, somewhere private." Logan begged.

"Fine." River said.

"Hop on." Logan said to his bike

River stared at the beauty motorbike in front of her and smirked,"I'm driving."

"No way." He complained.

"Don't be a baby. Your hand is hurt."

"I don't care. You don't know how to drive."

"Yes I do. I rode my first motorbike when I was 13 and a car when 14."

"Who lets a 13 year old ride a motorcycle."

"My idiot brother, Emmett." River chuckled as she thought of Emmett.

"Fine but if you crashed my bike. Forget what I said earlier I'll just kill you right away." Logan said as he dangled his keys.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." She said as she took the keys and swang her leg over the bike. Her breath hitched when Logan wrapped his hands around her waist,"hold on." She said,"it's been a while."

"River! If you cras..."

"Yeah, yeah I heard you the first time."

What do you think Logan meant by "he didn't want to let her go, not again. He shouldn't have let her go back then. If he hadn't she would have lived a full life and maybe be here with him now." "He was going to protect her this time." ?
