Chapter Ten: My Hero
I dragged Steve around the park, going on ride after ride. Steve was getting tired of nonstop riding, so he suggested taking pictures around the park with the Disney characters.
I was currently posing with Cinderella in front of her castle. Steve snapped the photo and I hugged the girl. We ran off towards where Tinkerbell was supposed to be. She was the last Disney girl I needed a picture with. As we approached where she was supposed to be, I turned a corner and ran straight into Peter Pan.
My breath caught in my throat and tears brimmed at my eyes.
"Pull it together you sad, pathetic five year old. It's just some fictional character." Chaos insulted me.
"Oh I am sorry." He stretched his hand out to help me up and I gripped it, allowing him to pull me up. "Are you alright?"
I nodded my head and Peter smiled at me, "Y-You're my hero." I stuttered out.
"Y-you're pathetic." Chaos mocked me, looking completely annoyed and uninterested.
His smile grew wider, "Did I save you from pirates?" He tapped his chin and glanced down at my wrists, "Yes, you must have battled some bad pirates." Peter pulled me in for a hug and whispered in my ear, "You're my hero."
Tears of joy flowed freely down my cheeks and Steve told us to pose for some pictures. Peter took funny and serious pictures with me. He pulled me in for another hug and kissed my forehead. "Now, I must save Wendy from that codfish, Hook. I shall see you again brave Lost Girl." And he disappeared around a corner.
My heart swelled with joy and I looked at Steve with wide eyes. "Apparently you really like him."
"Yes, yes I do."
We finally made it to Tinkerbell and she smiled at me. "Peter told me about you. He said you're a Lost Girl. It's nice to meet you." She pulled me into a hug and posed for some pictures with me.

After my long day at Disney, which we stayed at until it shut down for the night, I was wiped. We got home and as I was changing out of my clothes, a small slip of paper fell from my shorts pocket. I picked it up and unfolded the slip. A phone number was written on the front and a small message on the back.
"If you ever need to talk; text or call me. :) -Peter Pan."
I smiled and put the number into my phone. Bedtime was near but of course, when you're part of the Avengers, your job is never done and sleep is questionable. J.A.R.V.I.S informed us that Anglos was attacking the beach.
I let out a groan and quickly changed into my suit. How did he even know we were in L.A.? Why attack a beach? Why in the middle of the night?
"He's planning something Aurora. Be careful and don't get us killed." For once I'm actually going to listen to Chaos. Anglos had to be planning something.
"We can't have one day off?" I groaned as I followed Natasha.
Nat laughed and slung an arm around my shoulders, "We're superheroes, we don't take days off."
I grabbed Tony's outstretched hand and we took off towards downtown L.A. Not even the feeling of flying brightened my mood. "Come on Aurora, being a hero isn't all that bad."
I let go of Tony's hand and hit the ground kind of hard. A hiss of pain escaped my lips and Steve glanced at me worriedly. "I'm fine." My heels dug into the sand as we made our way towards distant screams.
We quickly focused in on the fight. Creatures were coming from every angle. Anglos came straight for me. "I'm not scared of you this time."
Anglos took a shot and my body erupted in flames.
