Chapter Thirty: The End

I could feel myself rush back into my body and it felt like I had been pushed through water while holding my breath too long. I flew up into a sitting position while gasping for air.

I looked around at my friends who were fighting off Hydra soldiers and Gabriel's attacks. I had to help.

I scrambled up quickly and set my sights on Gabriel and then slid my eyes to the antidote on the table nearby. I was going to cure him, he couldn't hurt anyone that way and hopefully I didn't have to hurt him. But I had to get him away from the table first.

"Imbecile!" I was trying to act as Chaos, luckily with Loki's tips, I could turn my eyes black without actually having Chaos in control.

Gabriel stopped firing at Steve and wait, was that Bucky? Damn. Anyways, he rushed over to me and bowed slightly. "I see you won."

I did my best evil smirk, "Aurora is pathetic and weak, it didn't take much. Let's finish these Avengers." Gabriel completely believed me to be Chaos and I followed him back into the fight. Steve looked at me and his face twisted into anger.

He charged at me and threw his shield in the process. I dodged it at the last second and watched it stick into the plaster of the wall. I caught Steve's fist and looked at him, "It's me Steve." I changed my eyes back to normal and then quickly flipped them back to solid black.

"You've learned new tricks Chaos, but they don't work on me." Steve yanked his arm down, grabbed my wrist and flipped me over his shoulder.

I landed on the ground with a groan. Shit that hurt. "Steve, please. I swear it's me."

"Tell me something only Aurora would know. Something she blocked from Chaos."

I wracked my mind for something and then smiled, "I remember the day you told me you loved me. We were fighting Loki in Manhattan and I got mind controlled by him for a few minutes. You broke the spell by hitting me in the head with your shield and then shook your head at me when I came to and said "Damn you for making me hit and love you." It was the first time you said a cuss word in over seventy years."

Steve stared at me and broke in to a smile, "Damn you for making me hurt you. But I don't regret loving you."

I laughed but turned serious once again, "I have to let Gabriel think Chaos is still in control. I need the antidote." I nodded my head towards the table. Steve nodded and told me to do whatever I had to. I brought my knees to my chest and kicked upward causing Steve to fly off me. God I'm sorry Steve.

"Gabriel, keep them distracted." I ran for the table only to be stopped by someone yanking me back by my hair. "Hey!"

"Let her go Loki."

Shit shit shit. I struggled in his grasp, but he held me tightly. "You truly are an imbecile if you can't see that this most certainly is not Chaos, midguardian." Loki lectured Gabe.

"What are you talking about Loki? She just took down Captain America without a second thought." Gabe argued back.

Loki sighed and shook his head, "She's tricking you, imbecile. It's Aurora using our own tricks against us." He yanked my hair and I let out a yelp. I could feel his hot breath on my neck, tickling it slightly. "You may have him fooled, but darling, you can not fool the god of mischief himself." Loki shoved me forward.

I landed on my knees harshly and caught the rest of my body with my hands, coming down on my already injured wrists. My hair curtained my face as I focused on what Loki was doing. I could copy his power and use it against him. But nothing came, I looked up and Thor was pinning his brother to the wall.

I scrambled up and reached for the syringe. A kick came to the back of me knees, making me fall to the ground and the antidote went sliding across the ground. I kicked my foot back and it connected with Gabriel's shins, he let out a groan and I used it as a chance to get to the syringe.

"Not so fast bitch."

What was it with people calling me a bitch?

Something swiped me off my feet and I landed on my back. I stared up at Gabriel who was currently towering over me with an evil grin. "Gabe don't do this." I tried pleading with him.

"I just wanted you back, Aurora. None of this would've happened if you just stayed with the agency." He ticked his tongue in disapproval. "We could've been together."

"No Gabriel," I shook my head and looked him in the eye, "We could never be together. I never liked you like that. I can't return the feelings you have for me."

Gabe's faced twisted into hatred, "Then I'll guess you'll just have to die." He was about to bring his foot down on me.

"Aurora!" I watched the syringe fly through the air and I swiftly caught it, stabbing it into Gabe's leg and pushing down the top.

Gabriel let out a yelp of pain and fell back. I scrambled back from his flailing body and watched in horror as his body twisted and turned. He went limp and I watched for any signs of breathing. When his chest began rising up and down steadily, I let out the breath I was holding.

"Aurora!" I turned to see Justice running towards me. "Oh thank god, you're okay!" She fell to her knees beside me and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. "You had me so worried, especially when Steve called saying you had been kidnapped. Why didn't you tell me about Chaos?"

"I didn't want my job put on the line." I hugged her back and suddenly more arms joined in. I looked to see my family hugging me, even Bucky, tears of joy in their eyes. They were happy to see me alive. I was loved again.

Steve helped me up and I looked at Natasha, "Nice throw by the way." The adrenaline that had been keeping me going was wearing off and I felt all the pain. "Guys, I think...I think I need to..." I trailed off and everything went black.

Ugh. Everything hurts, but I forced my eyes open anyway. I scanned the room and realized I was back in my room at Avengers tower. I was astonished that I wasn't back in the hospital for the 100th time. I slowly stood up and made my way to the door. I wanted to find everyone.

I walked to the top of the stairs and looked down to the living room. Everyone was standing around, nervous looks on their faces. Even Bucky, Fury and Justice were here. "Stop worrying guys. It'll give you all grey hair."

Their heads snapped towards me and Bucky chuckled, "I like her Steve."

Everyone was ecstatic to know I was okay and not dead. I walked down the stairs with the help of Tony and sat down on the couch. "Can I get some food? I'm starving." They all laughed and we fell back into our normal lives. Gabriel was no longer a threat. Loki was back on Asgard under high security lockdown. Justice is currently flirting with Nick. The Avengers and Bucky were making small talk among themselves and myself. And most importantly, I had Steve and everyone in this room. This was my family now and I wasn't going to let anything happen to them.

That's it guys. Chaos is officially done. Possibly an epilogue, I don't know yet. Anyway, I really enjoyed writing Aurora's story and again I'm no professional writer. This was all for fun.

The Avengers, Nick Fury, Loki and Bucky Barnes all belong to Marvel.

Justice, Gabriel and Aurora belong to me.

I'm currently working on a few other stories that I hope to release soon. Thanks for reading guys!
