Chapter Fourteen: Sketches
"Aurora?" A male voice and a knock followed.
"Come in." I shut my sketch book and set it on the nightstand next to my bed. Steve walked in and sat at the end of my mattress.
"What happened back at the beach?" His blue eyes turned up to me, worry etched all over his face.
Fear took over my body, "What do you mean?"
"Back at the beach, you weren't yourself. Your eyes were pure black and your entire personality switched."
I sighed and chewed on my bottom lip, "It's hard to talk about. You'll hate me."
"Rora," Steve placed his hand on my leg gently, "I could never hate you."
"It's a long story."
He shot me a reassuring smile, "I got time."
"After that big top fire Chaos appeared in my head. She's just like me except she's more confident and way more powerful. Chaos would stand up for us when I couldn't. I thought she was a good thing at first, but then I got older and I realized she was evil. Sometimes we fight for control, I usually win, but sometimes she wins like on the beach. I think she got stronger when I was tested on."
Steve stared at me, "But how did she become stronger?"
Here comes the hard part, "The Chthonic Magic that Loki was speaking of," I looked at him, "It's inside me."
Steve took in a sharp breath of air, his eyes widening a fraction, "You're the holder of Chthonic Magic? You're the one Loki wants?"
I nodded, chewing on my lip, "Don't hate me! I swear I don't know how to control it. I don't even know what it does."
Steve looked at me, an adorable smile on his face, "I would never hate you. I'll help you Rora. I'll protect you." He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers, "I'll always protect you."
I smiled at him and grabbed my sketch book, "Stay just like that." I began drawing him.
He sat perfectly still for the entire hour it took me to draw. Never once fidgeting or complaining. I smiled at the finished product and turned it to show him.
"You drew me in my suit?" He looked up at me.
"Well, it was better than shirtless like you are now." I laughed.
Steve laughed as well, his cheeks turning red, "But this is really good Aurora." He went to flip to another page and looked at me for permission. I nodded and he began flipping through. "You drew all of us?"
"Yeah, I do it from memory most of the time." I shrugged like it was no big deal.
Steve continued flipping through the sketchbook, taking in all my drawings with awe. "These should be in a gallery somewhere."
I laughed lightly, "I only do it for fun. Plus, I tried that once, before you guys found me and before Justice did. No one would take them, said they were to ordinary."
"That's absurd and they must be completely blind!" Steve grabbed my hands in his, "These deserve to be shown off."
"It's really okay Steve. I'm okay." I smiled at him and set my sketchbook down, leaving the room to get some tea.

"Steve, where are we going? We've been walking forever." Steve came into my room around ten o'clock this morning and blindfolded me, telling me that he and the other Avengers had a surprise for me.
"Just a few more seconds." We went from the heat to air conditioning. "Almost....there."
The blind fold was taken off, but it was still pitch black. "Steve? Tony?" The curtains fell from the windows and my eyes widened in awe. The room was filled with all my sketches.
"We made it just for you, Aurora." Tony stepped up next to me, "It was Steve's idea."
I turned to my friends, "This is amazing. Thank you."
"And you want to know the best part?" Natasha smiled at me, "It's open to the public."
My heart was about to explode. "This is so amazing. People are finally going to see my work."

Hey guys, I'm so sorry for the long wait. I've had a lot to do and on top of it all, my wifi went down for an entire week.
I am also working on a new story, so I'll possibly publish that one soon if you want to read it. It's a Supernatural fanfic.
Thanks for being patient.
