Chapter Eighteen: Here To Help

I was sitting in the bookstore, trying to keep up with the mass amount of customers we had today. Apparently, everyone in NYC wanted books today. It was a quiet day outside until an explosion shook the store.

People outside started screaming and running away. The customers started panicking. I stood up on my seat, "Please stay calm and stay inside the store."

One angry customer stared up at me, "Who put you in charge?"

I snapped my fingers and my outfit and appearance quickly changed. My blonde hair flowed past my shoulders and my super suit appeared on my body.

"Isis..."

I smiled, "Now please stay inside the store. My coworker, Angela, will show you to the back room." Angela nodded and quickly gathered everyone, taking them towards the back of the store.

It was time for me to show my face again, to help my family. I quickly ran out the door and towards the smoke billowing into the sky. My heart stopped when I realized what was on fire.

Avengers Tower.

Tony:

I was in my work room, tossing metal scraps after metal scraps across the room. I was trying to find the left hand to my Mark 42 which seemed impossible due to the mess I created.

It was peaceful until an explosion shook the tower. I stood up quickly and ran towards the stairs, talking to J.A.R.V.I.S the entire way.

"Mr. Stark, we are being attacked."

"I understand that JARVIS, but who's attacking us?!" I pressed a button on my watch and my suit clamped to my body.

"It looks like Anglos and Loki."

The Mark 50 clicked into place and I took off out the window and towards the top of the tower. Aliens were attacking the tower and the rest of the Avengers were already fighting.

Something in the air changed and Gabriel was laughing. "So you've come out of hiding. Perfect."

"I've come to stop you."

We all whipped around to see Aurora as Isis. She was floating in front of Gabriel, a sneer plain on her face. Since when could she fly?!

"Good luck with that Rory."

"I'm looking forward to it." She let out a battle cry and attacked Gabriel.

Aurora:

I sent a right hook to Gabriel's jaw, hearing the satisfying crack of the bone popping out. Chaos smiled within my head.

"Good girl, use that anger."

I glared at nothing in particular, "Stay out."

"You thought you could get rid of me so easily?" Chaos laughed, "Honey, you'll never get rid of me."

"You're only in my mind. A figment." I let out a small squeal as she popped up in front of me, her black eyes burning bright, if it was even possible.

She raised her hand, a red glow coming from her fist, "I'm as what you make me. To you I'm completely real."

I shook my head, Chaos disappearing with a maniacal laugh. I turned my attention back to the fight only to see Gabriel lunging straight for me. A scream left my lips as he tackled me to the ground, my head hitting rubble.

Steve:

I could feel the air thicken with tension but I paid no mind as I continued fighting Loki. He made things appear and disappear as he willed.

What broke my attention was a familiar scream. It was like a slow motion part of a movie. I turned around and watched as Aurora fell from the sky, Gabriel on top of her and then her head connecting with the large slab of concrete.

"Rora!"
