Chapter Sixteen: Taking Over Me

Steve:

We made it downtown and I skidded my motorcycle to a stop in front of Gabriel. I went to get up but was anchored to the seat by Aurora. She was trying to get off the bike and having a hard time with it too.

Aurora finally got off, rubbed the sleep from her eyes and ignited her hands. Power duplication was pretty cool, I'll admit.

"Isis, you aren't looking to hot. You sure you want to do this?" Gabriel laughed.

"I'll take you on, any day, any time." She pointed a finger at him and smirked, making a 'come at me' motion with her finger, "Let's go cupcake."

They ran at each other, battle cries leaving their mouths. They both shot fire, the streams colliding and exploding. I lifted my shield to block the blast from both Natasha and myself. The heat coming off of their attacks was intense, like standing next to a burning forest.

The air was getting thick with smoke as they continued matching each other. All of us began coughing loudly, but Isis and Anglos were oblivous to the smoke they were creating.

Natasha grabbed onto my arm, one hand covering her nose, "They have to-" Cough. "Stop using their-" Cough. "Fire powers or we'll all suffocate."

I nodded, "Stand back." I made my way towards Aurora, shield up and blocking my face from the blasts of fire. "Isis! You have to stop." Isis turned to me, rage on her face and black in her eyes, "Chaos?!"

"It's good to be back!" She smiled and turned back to Anglos, pushing her hands out further, increasing the intensity of her fire. Chaos's maniacal laughter filled my ears. "C'mon Gabriel, can't match my power?"

"Steve, what's going on?!" I heard Natasha yell behind me.

"It's Chaos, she's taken over."

I made my way closer to Isis, blocking the blasts of fire. "Chaos! You have to stop!"

"Why Cappy? I can finally beat him, I'm in control."

"Because, if you continue we'll all die." I spun her around and pointed at the Avengers.

Natasha and Bruce were on their knees coughing badly and Thor was desperately trying to clean the air around them.

A look of fear crossed Isis's face, "Did I...did I do that?"

"No Isis, Chaos did."

Isis quickly put out the fire and rushed to Natasha and Bruce. "Guys, I'm so sorry." She looked back at me with sad eyes and took off into the smoke.

"Aurora wait!" I tried following her but I just got lost and confused in the smoke.

Aurora:

I ran and I kept running, all the way back to the tower. I couldn't stay, I was too dangerous. They were my only family and I just damn near killed them.

I made it too my room and grabbed some clothes and money, stuffing it all in my backpack. I quickly wrote a note and disappeared out the window.

Going wherever my feet took me.

Steve:

We made it back to the tower after Anglos disappeared. Natasha and Bruce were in the medical center getting some oxygen back in their systems.

Thor went looking for Aurora and I was making my way to her room. I opened the door and no one was in it. I looked around and noticed that her drawers were empty and a small note lay on her pillow.

Steve,
I know you're going to be the one to find this first. I'm sorry for running away, but I can't risk you all getting hurt. Chaos is just too strong and I'm going to get help, I promise.

Tell Tony that he better take care of Pepper and make sure he doesn't drink to much.

Tell Natasha and Clint to get together, their sexual tension was driving me mad.

Tell Thor that there's a years worth of his favorite coffee hidden under my bed.

Make sure Bruce doesn't Hulk out.

Tell everyone that I love them and I'm sorry. I'll return when I can control Chaos or when she's completely gone.

Love,
Aurora
