The song of the chapter is (I know it's kind of girlish for this story, but it fits) I Miss You by Hannah Montana.

Enjoy!

Chapter Twenty: Trust

"I don't understand why you had JARVIS put me on lock down!" My hands rested on my hips and a frown on my lips as Tony tinkered with new designs for the tower.

"It was a precaution."

I glared, "A precaution for what? I was fine Tony!"

"You hit your head pretty hard Aurora. We didn't need Chaos screwing things up." Tony stopped and turned, registering what he just said, "Aurora, I-"

I flinched away from his touch, "So that's what this is about? You don't think I can handle Chaos?! Wow Tony. I'm sorry I ever burdened you with my problem." I stormed out of his lab and out of the tower. I needed to go somewhere and I knew exactly where.

•••••/•••••

"Hey Alec." I sat down on the soft grass and looked up with a smile. "I know it's been awhile, but I've been busy with some stuff." I paused, "I'm an Avenger Alec, can you believe it? Crazy right?"

I wiped away the hair that flew into my face, "They're really nice, better than the Russians. They treat me wonderfully, though they're slightly worried about Chaos, but other than that they are great." I laughed.

"There's Tony, aka, Iron Man. He's a genius, funny too. Then there's Natasha, she's like the older sister I never had. Clinton is so hilarious, he's got mad bow and arrow skills too, but don't tell him I said that. Next would be Bruce Banner. He turns into this big, green creature that everyone calls the Hulk, but he's actually a fragile, sweet mad scientist."

I could hear Alec's laughter, "Lastly comes Steve aka Captain America. We didn't get along at first but after a few weeks or so, we warmed up to each other. We saw that we weren't so different. Steve is smart, talented, a fighter and pretty handsome too. It's nice knowing that someone was like me, but not entirely."

A twig snapped behind me and I was up faster than a bullet, pinning the person to a tree. I looked up, "Steve?"

"Hey Aurora. I heard you stormed out of the tower, so I came to look for you."

I dropped him and turned my back to him, "How did you find me?"

"I called Justice. Aurora, I'm sorry." His hand landed on my shoulder gently.

"Don't be," I shrugged him off, "It was years ago." I started walking away but stopped when I heard something thump against the ground. I turned to see Steve on the ground across from Alec. "What are you doing?"

"I want to introduce myself." He turned back to Alec, "My name's Steven Rogers. I come from Brooklyn, New York. I'm an Avenger, former soldier and S.H.I.E.L.D agent. Aurora is wonderful and a joy to have around. I'm sorry for treating her badly at first but I promise not to hurt her anymore." Steve stood up and laced his fingers with mine, "It was wonderful meeting you."

I smiled up at Steve and then back to Alec, "I miss you everyday." A single tear slid down my face, making a small puddle of water appear on the stone.

In memory of Alec Sousa. Beloved Son, Brother and Friend. Gone but never forgotten.
