Chapter Twenty-Eight: Back

I opened my eyes only to see black. I panicked, but then remembered that I needed to think straight. I calmed down and observed my surrounding with my other senses. I could feel something cold clamping my hands to a wooden chair; possibly metal cuffs. My feet were tied with rope. Thankfully, Chaos enjoyed shorts to pants so I could feel the rope scratching at my ankles. I took a deep breath and instantly smelled rust, meaning we were somewhere near water. The dripping of water nearby confirmed my suspicion.

"I want Chaos back." Gabriel's voice filled my head.

"I'm not giving her to you. I'm in control now." I smirked. "You won't get her."

A fist connected with my abdomen and I let out a low groan. "C'mon Rory. Give her to us and you'll  come out unharmed." Gabriel punched me.

"Harm me or kill me. You'll never get her again." I spat. Another punch, this time to the face. "Son of a bitch!" I snarled and struggled against my restraints.

"We'll be back. Don't go anywhere." Gabriel laughed and his footsteps faded away.

Steve:

"Okay Bucky, Aurora most likely knows her kidnapper besides that it's her 'alter ego'. His name is Gabriel and he was an associate of S.H.I.E.L.D. Natalia and Tony are going to hack into any files they can find that relate to Gabriel. Hawkeye and Thor are going to search the city and surrounding areas. You and I are going to lure out Gabriel and then track him." I looked around at the team and they nodded. "Avengers assemble."

We decided to lure Gabriel out by Bucky going 'rouge' and wanting to help him. S.H.I.E.L.D files still have him as rogue and MIA so to Gabriel, he's still bad. Tony hacked files to get his last known cell number and Bucky sent him a very convincing text that he had top secret information on Aurora. I was hiding in a nearby building.

I watched as Gabriel approached Bucky's location and sat across from him. They exchanged a few words and then Bucky slid him a folder that contained some information about Aurora but also had a cyber-lock (thanks to Tony) that would only unlock when he was far enough away and then allowed us to track him and time for Bucky to make his famous disappearing act.

Gabriel nodded and shook hands with Bucky, quickly getting as far away as possible. Not completely trusting the Winter Soldier. Bucky waited then signaled me down. "Part one complete."

I slapped Bucky on the back, "Good job. Now we have to wait."

"Good," Bucky smiled at me, "Then you can tell me more about Aurora."

Aurora:

I was dehydrated and starving at this point. I don't know how long I'd been down here or how I got here. I remember escaping from wherever they held Chaos and taking back my body but other than that it's black.

Footsteps echoed through the room and I stiffened automatically. "Bring back Chaos."

"Never. I finally know how to control her and I'm not giving that up." A metal against metal sound made my heart quicken and sweat drip down the side of my face.

"I didn't want to hurt you Aurora. I was actually really fond of you." I hissed when, what I'm guessing was a knife, was shoved through my thigh.

"You sick son of a bitch!" I spat where I thought he stood and smiled in satisfaction when I heard a sound of disgust from him.

Panic set in again when something was clipped to the cuffs. "I'm sorry it had to come to this Aurora." Gabriel brushed my hair from my face and then stepped away.

I heard a low buzz and then the most intense pain I've ever experienced. A scream left my lips and I swear it could've shattered windows. I kept screaming over and over. "Are you going to give her control?"

I said, "Never." Between deep breathes. The electricity was turned on again and I screamed even more.

 "Let her go Gabriel."

My ears perked up along with my heart, but in the good way. "S-Steve?" The pain shocked through me, literally, again. I screamed and could feel the cuffs burning in to my wrists. I had to give him what he wanted. Chaos was the only one who could get me out of this situation. "O-okay Gabe. I'll do it."

"Finally. Chaos is back in business."

 "Aurora don't!" Steve shouted.

"Face it Captain Rogers, you're out numbered." More footsteps filled the space, "Hail Hydra."

The blindfold was taken off my eyes and I blinked rapidly. I focused on Steve, who was struggling against Hydra soldiers. "Don't hurt him please?"

Gabe snapped his fingers and the soldiers held Cap down but harmed him no more. "Rora, you don't have to do this. The others, they'll be here."

"I'm sorry Steve, but I have to protect my family." I closed my eyes and let myself fall back behind the wall as Chaos surged forward. I could see Steve's face change to horror and Gabe's to satisfaction. "Don't get to comfortable Chaos."
