Chapter Three: Avengers..Assemble
~2 weeks later~
I've been with the Avengers for two weeks and absolutely nothing happened. Except for the fight I had with Steve two nights ago.
We were in the training room. Steve didn't believe I had any powers and challenged me to the training course. I complied only to shut him up. He was seriously getting on my last nerve with the whole "Just another Black Widow" thing.
Steve put me up against Black Widow first. She came at me with all she had and I matched her moves exactly. Dodging her punches and jumping her kicks. Natasha went for a full frontal punch, but I swiftly caught her fist and flipped her over my shoulder, but caught her before she painfully hit the ground.
Up next was Thor, who swung his hammer, lightning forming in the room. I smirked and focused my mind on Mjölnir. I could feel the electricity buzzing through my body.
The lightning came straight at me and I held my hand out, matching the power of Mjölnir. Lightning crackled and an explosion shook the room, throwing myself and Thor backwards.
My back hit the wall and I fell to the ground. "Holy shit." Tony must've been leaning on the intercom button because his voice boomed around the room and vibrated my brain.
"Ugh." I stood up, rubbing my head. I looked up at everyone and their eyes were wide with shock, of course all but Steve. I challenged him with my eyes and Steve picked up his shield, entering the training room.
"My turn." He smirked.
My brown eyes narrowed, "Bring it." I stood in my fighting stance, watching Steve's every move. We fought hand-to-hand and even did standard tactical army maneuvers. "Is that all you got?" The hairs that had fallen from my ponytail were hanging in my face as I watched Steve.
Steve glared at me and what happened next was so quick it took everyone forever to process. Steve threw his shield as hard as he could at me and I caught it. I fucking caught Captain America's shield!
My eyes widened and so did Steve's. "How about them apples?" I smirked at Steve.
He stormed up to me, his blue eyes icy and glazed with anger. "How the hell did you do that?!"
"I told you," I looked up at him, "I'm just like you."
Steve looked me up and down with judging eyes, "You are nothing like me. You'll never be anything like me."
My anger flared and I got right up into Mr. America's face, "Listen here Captain, I was created just like you. My body was used to test another run of the super soldier serum and it had some other affects. I was a soldier, an agent and now I'm an Avenger. I am obviously exactly like you. So don't you ever, EVER tell me I am nothing like you. You don't know my story so don't judge me." I threw his shield down, roughly hit Steve's shoulder and left the training room.
And that's how I ended up here, sleeping in the guest room on Tony's floor of the building. A blaring beeping noise startled me from my sleep and I flew off the side of my bed. Tony came running in, "Isis?"
I popped my head out from under the sheets, "Yes?"
"Are you alright?"
I nodded, "What exactly is that awful noise?"
A look of confusion crossed his face and then realization, "The Avengers alarm!" Tony grabbed my hand and pulled me along down to what I guess was the briefing room.
Everyone turned to look at us. I swear Steve had a permanent glare on his face. "What's going on?"
Steve's eyes left mine and went to the large computer in front of him. "J.A.R.V.I.S has informed us that Loki is attacking downtown."
"Loki? Jarvis?"
Tony looked at me, "I'll explain later."
Steve picked up his shield and looked at us with determination in his eyes and a leadership aura about him, "Avengers...Assemble."

Above is how I pictured Steve and Isis glaring at each other. Yes, I do know it's actually Black Widow, but close enough.
