AN; Hello! Hope everyone is well. I really, really like this chapter. Everything is finally falling into place. Also, a few things. The twin was supposed to be Viola, not Julia and I wrote paper cutter when I meant letter opener. Anyways, I'm getting mad reads on this story now, and hopefully, this momentum keeps going! I got 400 reads for over 6 days and now my total is at 1,986 reads! Also, so grateful for all the votes I received, I'm now at 315 votes! Also, thanks to everyone who comments, and points out mistakes. I am a terrible editor, so I appreciate the corrections. Enjoy!

"What do you want?" Alpha Luka asked. I heard the rustle of the fabric of his suit, while he turned his head to look at Grayson.  I heard Grayson's approaching footsteps come into the room and up to the desk.  The Alpha pressed my head harder into the wooden surface.

Grayson's voice floated into my head. "What is going on? What happened. Why are you alone with the Alpha in his office and why does he have his hands on you? Are you okay?"

I wished at that moment I could turn my face to look at him, but I couldn't. All I could see was the silver letter opener, with an ornate wolf at its end, glinting in the lights from the Alpha's office on the desk beside me.

"He was questioning me about why one of human my co-workers trespassed onto Pine Ridge. I tried to tell you that he was taking me up to his office alone, did you hear me?  He's angry because I didn't tell anyone this human was interested in Pine Ridge and had asked to interview me about it. "

"No, I wasn't close enough unless you were trying to communicate to me in the place in-between our bond.  I just got a bad feeling, so I went looking for you."

The Alpha pressed my face into the wood even harder.

Black splotches began to dance in front of my eyes, and my mind began to fog, and turn to darker thoughts. I slowly slid my hand towards the sliver handle of the letter opener lying beside me on the desk.

There was a real chance the Alpha was going to kill me. Any more pressure, my skull will be crushed ....and if he did Grayson would attack him for sure. I didn't know why, but I had a feeling that the Alpha would rip him to shreds. So if that was the case, might as well get a jab in before going down.

"AURELIA!" Grayson's voice roared in the head and my fingers froze millimeters away from the handle. " What are you doing!? Touch it and he'll kill you, he's looking at your hand inching towards the letter opener right now!"

I let my hand fall limp against the table, and just like that the fog that had settled around my mind lifted, and I was left stunned by my own thoughts, and how I was prepared to follow through with what they were telling me to do.

"It's Alpha Damien's mate, she ran off into the woods again and they can't find her," Grayson replied, and I was shocked by how calm his voice sounded compared to what it sounded like inside my head.  "She's having one of her episodes. He needs your help to help organize a search party."

"That's it  I am not leaving. for Black Lake  You are losing control just like I feared, we both are and it's getting worse and worse. You just tried to stab the Alpha, and it's taking everything  in me right now not to rip his throat out, and the only way I'm keeping myself from doing that is because you are so close to him right now, so it would be dangerous for you if I attacked."

"I wasn't trying to reach for the letter opener to stab the Alpha!"

''I can tell that you are lying..."

Alpha Luka swore under his breath and his hand left my face and I sank to my knees on the Persian rug, while I clutched at my head. I now had the worst headache I think I ever had in my entire life, but I was grateful that I wasn't dead.  I would have been if I had picked up that letter opener.

"That stupid woman, why did he bring her here in the first place?"

"No idea, but just be glad that Alpha Christopher didn't bring his mate, she is even more unbearable."

"Speaking of  mates, who is she?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Who is your mate? I assuming that's why you felt so passionately about going to Black Lake, so  much so that, despite my direct orders that you would remain here until after the Alpha's left, you defied me and forced my hand to let you go there."

My head snapped around and I stared at Grayson,  but he wasn't looking at me. He was staring at the Alpha and his eyes turned a bright yellow.

"Grayson do you think he knows about us!?"

"No, because if he knew you  were my mate, you would be correct in believing  that you would be dead in a heartbeat."

"I see from your eyes that I must be right," he let out a soft chuckle. "This trip will be the last time you will get in a long long time. I decided you will stay and learn to be an Alpha of Pine Ridge. Your funds to travel wherever you please are hereby revoked. I need to teach you how to be a strong Alpha, just like my father taught me. He broke me down so I could be rebuilt stronger, and taught me how to make others submit, by making me submit to him. So, whoever your mate is I suggest bringing them back here. Red Crescent is very close to Black Lake if I recall. Let me know if you meet any resistance, and I send you help."

"I don't know what you are talking about," Grayson replied. "Why would I need any assistance?"

"There is a line of wolves that live in Red Crescent, with very special abilities. One of them is the ability to astral project to whoever they please. And their mates share that same ability too.  During our sessions, you don't slip away into unconsciousness, something, or someone comes to take you away. Have a safe flight," Alpha said and without another word, he left the room.
