Grayson let out a howl of pain and released me. The second he did I made a mad dash away from him, but I wasn't quick enough and his hands reached out grabbed the barrel of the gun, leaving me no choice but to let it be yanked out of my hands.

""AURELIA!" Grayson screamed while I raced past Aaron and the witch's husband , who were now tussling on the ground.

Grayson bellowed my name again and I knew that he would be up in a mater of seconds and if he caught onto me, there would be hell to pay.

I turned towards where I had last seen Liam and Annie. Only to see, that Liam was sprinting towards me.

He stopped dead in his tracks before I got to him.

"Liam!" I cried.

"Get behind me!" he yelled and lifted up his hands in the same manner as the witch. The tip of his fingers glowed with a golden light

I did as he said and ran towards Annie, who had her back pressed up against the red shinny metal surface of the car. Her eyes darted between her brother and Liam like she wasn't sure who she should be focussing on.

Meanwhile, smoke began to spill from the witch's hands and choked the air in a thick black haze, until it shrouded Grayson, who was slowly climbing to his feet, and Aaron and the witches husband who where now  standing, but still locked in a nasty struggle.

The darkness reached Liam first naturally, with him being closest to the witch.  But before it could touch his body it seemed to halted by a wall of shimmering, golden light.

For a second, the black smog seemed to be kept at bay by the golden wall of light. But, like a rock in the middle of a rushing river, the black tides diverted around Liam and once again resumed their march towards us.

Liam turned towards me, his eyes full of panic, before the fog consumed him too.  And I had the distinct impression that Liam hadn't intend for the for the fog to act like this.

I turned towards the car that was right beside us, and with little time to think, I opened the door and pulled Annie into the back of the car with me and slammed the door closed, right before world around us went dark.

Annie squeezed my hand hard, while we scrambled to the middle of the leather, and as far away as we could get from the inky blackness outside .

"What is that black stuff!? Is Liam and Aaron going to be okay!?" she asked, her worlds coming out between gasps of air.

"A spell, that's all I know. I'm not sure what kind of spell it is, so we just got hope that everything is okay."

"But aren't you a witch, don't you know at least a little bit about magic ? Can you tell if she cast a spell that could kill them!?" Annie asked.

I shook m head at her. "I'm not a witch, I'm a Lunera, or a werewolf that can not turn."

Annie furled her eyebrows at me. "Liam told me that you were a powerful witch.

This time, it was my turn to furor my eyebrows at her. "That's news to me."

But just than, there was a loud crash, just as something collided with the side of the car. Both Annie and I clung onto the head rest in front of us, while whole car rocked violent and nearly tilted over.

"What the hell was that!?" Annie yelled.

I listened, trying to find the answers to Annie's question. I could hear something moving around outside.

Whatever it was, the ground shook slightly with every step it took. And then something appeared out of the smoke, a shape:

It wasn't until it was pulling  the door of the car opened that I could make out what it was. It was a human hand, or rather a giant's hand with a palm the size of the saucer plate and large, sausage like fingers. And those same meaty fingers wrapped around my leg, before I had time to react, and began to pull.
