I stared at her in awe at her. Her honey hair fell over her shoulders in golden waves, while her eye sparkled like a placid blue lake. Across her nose laid a delicate spray of freckles. On her slight frame she wore a simple white cotton dress, that hung loosely and stopped just above her ankles.

She held up her lantern closer to me, and in its golden light, I saw the dark mist settling around us.

"Are you okay?" the girl asked me.

I nodded my head, "Are you an angel?"

The girl let out a small chuckle, "No. I'm Laurie, I'm a time traveler. And I traveled back in time to save you. It is very important that I get you out of  here. Did  you swallow that piece of Him?"

I stared at her, mouth a gape, without answering.

Laurie moved her head back and forth, while she scanned the black expanse encompassing us.

She looked down at me expectantly.
"Did you swallow that piece of Him?"

"I don't know," I replied.

Laurie let out a small sigh. "Of course you wouldn't, you have no idea what's going on yet ....Did you see a rope when we came in here?".

I shook my head.

"Grrrrrr," something said from within the dark. The girls eyes widened in fear, and she looked around in fright

I let out a yelp of surprise and ran towards the girl and wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face in the cotton folds of her dress.

She pushed me away from her. "We don't have time for that, come on we must find the rope!"

She grabbed my hand and pulled me forward.

"In the dark mist, something grabbed my leg and caused me to fall and let go of her hand. Laurie and her lantern disappeared from my sight in the next instant."

"Help!" I cried and kicked frantically at whatever held me in its grip.

"Where are you!?" Laurie's voice called out. It seemed to be coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time, if that was even possible.

"I'm here!" I cried whatever had a hold of me let me go, but it's grip was soon replaced by a rough, giant hand, that lifted me off the ground, and dangled me upside-down. The sound heavy breathing filled my ears and a putrid wind caressed my cheeks.

Than abruptly the giant let go of me and I feel to the ground. I immediately tried to jump to my feet, only for what felt like millions of hands grab a hold of my arms, my dress, and my legs and pin me to the damp ground. Then, something scaly and long began to wrap itself aground my body and squeeze me.

"Help!" I cried.

"Help!" dozens of voices screamed. "Help! Help! Help!" they repeated over and over again.

Then a singular voice spoke from the darkened, in a low guttural growl, that reverberated through every bone in my body. "Wwhhatt arrrre you?" it groaned.

The thing that had been squeezing me slithered from my body and disappeared into the darkness.  I managed to scramble to my feet.

A pair of large round red eyes with silted pupils materialized from the darkness, accompanied by the sound of wet hair slithering around in the darkness.

"A witch ? A natural one?...No, that's not all." the voice continues. "Your touch burnnns."
The eyes came even closer to me until they were mere inches from
my face "Curiousss curiousss. Wwhhatt arrrre youu, something new? Bllood and bones. Remake and renewww to take revenge on the ones that casted us down here. Little one, we will return to the surface soon. How shall I remake you??? I don'ttt know, soooo much time, soooo much energy. Will yourr burn meee?" it asked.

I felt the wet hair wraps itself around my body and begin to pull me closed to the red eyes, just as something or someone grabbed my hand and a light was cast onto the thing that stood before me.
